I'm just generalizing because, since we don't play a round robin, chances are the Ducks would have to play at least, say, half of them; plus another in the SECCG. I would love to see how they respond having to play tough teams back to back. And, how would they respond to the pounding week in week out.

Pay attention these next few weeks. If Oregon escapes their schedule with 1 loss.. they're probably head and shoulders above the rest of the country.

Yea I'm just thinking that I would vote LSU in the championship even with 3 undefeated teams, and LSU had an SEC Champ with one loss.

I also don't think people should say bama should go if they win but not uga if they beat bama

I couldn't. Schedule isn't tough enough. If it was last year.. I'd maybe say vote a 2011 1-loss LSU in over the current teams.. due to that retarded schedule.. although I can't say it would be fair at all.

Maybe I'm not giving enough credit, but I don't buy USC and Oregon State as being that tough. Again, maybe its just me. I'm not saying they're comparable to the Big East or ACC but they're not SEC caliber either.

Alabama or UGA will get a bump at the end of the year by beating a top 5 team and would easily get in over any other one loss team, including Oregon if they lose.Alabama would've beaten LSU and Georgia who are both top 10 teams, Oregon will have beaten 0 top 10 teams.UGA would also get in over Oregon if they both have one lose.

Is Florida that good? What about South Carolina? Both top-10ish teams.. I'm just not sold that either of them is worth much.

I'd take USC-west against either of them and expect them to roll. Notre Dame would probably crush them.

If Alabama wins.. is that bump big enough to off-set that drop that you're going to get for finishing the regular season vs 1-win Western Carolina and 3-win Auburn? Don't forget that Oregon will close the season by playing 3 consecutive top-15 teams. Alabama has played 4 teams with a winning record (Lost to 1 of them at home) and that most likely won't change until the SECCG. 1 of those teams is Western Kentucky.

Is beating a 4-loss Michigan team and a 2-loss LSU (thus far) team good enough?

As in deserve? Regardless if Ducks/KSU/ND go undefeated?

I don't think there is any 'great' team this year. Everyone looks very beatable. Would be a great year for that 4 team playoff.

Good point. Notre Dame seems more like a SEC team that relies on D more than O (until Kelly gets his O going, which I expect). Your point about USC is why I hate bowl tie ins.
SEC teams have no chance to play a PAC 12 team like the old days.

Yeah...USC is ranked 19, plus Oregon would've only beaten two top 15 all year, Bama would've beaten two top 5 teams, Oregon's schedule has been horrible all year.

Not if there are two undefeated teams from BCS conferences/with respectable schedules

This. Plain and simple. If 2 of the current 3 undefeated teams stay undefeated, then there won't be a SEC team in the NC. The SEC has had a nice run with the BCS Championship but that's the way it goes without a playoff system. Even winning all your games doesn't guarantee a shot; just ask Auburn in 2004. It could happen again if all 3 stay undefeated; someone will left out and pissed off.

As far as SOS I think Oregon and Bama's are comparable. Both have mediocre schedules, but I think Oregon has it just slightly tougher

Oregon plays.. (in a row)
@#20 USC
@California
#14 Stanford
#15 Oregon St
#15ish UCLA/USC

As an Alabama fan.. you surely don't want to talk about schedules.. do you? You should see my previous post. You will have only beaten 4 teams with winning records during the entire regular season.. and 1 of those is western kentucky ( ) Even the sunbelt teams you guys have faced have losing records.

A 1-loss SEC champion Alabama (or UGA) should jump a 1-loss ND, KSU.. but not a 1-loss Oregon.

1-loss Oregon vs Undefeated Kansas St would be a good game.
