I mean really. There almost no circumstance where the SEC champion gets left out of the playoff.
The only way it happens is if one division kills itself and has a 3-loss champion and that team pulls an LSU-Tennessee style upset in the SECCG.
Other than that, there is absolutely no way the SEc champ is left out, none.

Look back at the previous years and see if you would've taken a 2 loss SEC team. These are all from the last poll before bowls.
SEC teams in bold.
2013
1 Florida State 13-0
2 Auburn 12-1
3 Alabama 11-1
4 Michigan State 12-1
5 Stanford 11-2
6 Baylor 11-1
7 Ohio State 12-1
8 Missouri 11-2
9 South Carolina 10-2
10 Oregon 10-2
2012
1 Notre Dame 12-0
2 Alabama 12-1
3 Florida 11-1
4 Oregon 11-1
5 Kansas State 11-1
6 Stanford 11-2
7 Georgia 11-2
8 LSU 10-2
9 Texas A&M 10-2
10 South Carolina 10-2
2011
1 LSU 13-0
2 Alabama 11-1
3 Oklahoma State 11-1
4 Stanford 11-1
5 Oregon 11-2
6 Arkansas 10-2
7 Boise State 11-1
8 Kansas State 10-2
9 South Carolina 10-2
10 Wisconsin 11-2
2010
1 Auburn 13-0
2 Oregon 12-0
3 TCU 12-0
4 Stanford 11-1
5 Wisconsin 11-1
6 Ohio State 11-1
7 Oklahoma 11-2
8 Arkansas 10-2
9 Michigan State 11-1
10 Boise State 11-1
It could happen, but not likely. Thankfully you're no longer done with one loss. Just win out.

Not this year, UGA will only have 1 loss as the champ, and I don't think we get 2 teams in this years

How about this, A&M goes 11-1, the loss is to Auburn. Auburn goes 12-0, wins the west, blows out the SEC East winner and goes to playoff. Two other spots go to a undefeated or 1 loss PAC team and Big 10 team. ACC winner is 2 loss.
A&M now has a chance to get in. That's a huge improvement over the old system.

No chance, unless they won the SECCG then they'd have a shot.

I think the only teams getting into the playoff will be conference champions, or that at least how I think it should be. No reason to shut out the rest of the country after we already have a conference tournament to determine our best team.
Only losers would argue otherwise IMO.

If you don't win your conference you ain't getting in... Period!
That's the point, they will absolutely make it a big part of getting in. The argument is too easy, win your conference.
5 P5 and ND, for 4 spots, worst record stays home.

If the 2 loss team is the SEC champion, probably yes.
If not the SEC champion, almost certainly no.

2 loss SEC champs? Sure.
2 loss at large from the SEC? No way in hell.
Leaving out the SEC champ in a 4 team "playoff" would make college football a farce.

What that 3 loss team barely beats an undefeated West team, like Bama, Au, or LSU? Who goes,? The 12-1 secg loser or the 10-3 secg winner? Neither Or both?
It would depend on the other conference champ records, say none were undefeated.

Everyone that's saying a 2 loss SEC champ doesn't get in is clueless. The SEC champ will absolutely get in. I don't see 2 teams from same conference getting in however. I think that is where we will get the most controversy from.

Likely. The other 3 slots will likely go to FSU(ACC Champ) and someone from the Big 12 and Pac 12. The only other real shot at beating the SEC out would be the Big 10. It would have to be Auburn or Bama, who has pull from recent success to jump a one loss Big 10 Champ. If its a 2 loss Big 10 or undefeated small school any SEC Champ would get in over them.

The only way a 2 loss SEC team makes the playoff is if they beat and undefeated SEC team in the SECCG by a large margin.
