These things work themselves out.

Either ND or UGA will shite the bed before it comes to this.

OP: "I can't and/or don't read this forum regularly..."

It's been asked/answered about every which way... Too many variables.
How many 1 loss or fewer conference champions?
How does UGA look in the games prior to the SECCG and how does the game itself go?
Bama likely given the edge more easily than UGA... though the outcome of the SECCG could maybe color that... Notre Dame with the 1 point loss... if UGA somehow managed an impressive win, might tarnish Bama a bit, though they would have one more win than ND in that case still..

Good point. Would be a weird situation.

And would have played one more game because ND doesn't have a championship game. Two points against ND.

Georgia would, just because of the head to head, along with wins over Georgia Tech and... well, I got nothin. Auburn? I guess? At that point, they'd be at least a 4 loss team.

For Bama, wins over a terrible Florida St, Colorado St, Fresno St, LSU, Miss St, and Auburn... yeah, probably not the best schedule this year.

Strength of schedule won't be the SEC's friend this year.

Not hard at all

When the Dawgs lose to us in the SEC title game you are out

Notre Dame will have an overall better schedule and the loss was by 1 point to you at home

Tough luck no one is going to want to watch us beat your arse twice in a row

IF UGA squeaks by its remaining opponents, loses bigly to Bama, and ND wins out in dominating fashion, then ND might end up ranked above UGA. Otherwise, I think the head-to-head would trump.

There’s no way to predict how that decision will be made yet. But as long as people’s opinions rule out most logical reasoning, there will continue to be unfairness throughout.
Refer to:

2011 bama and 2016 Ohio State-
Both lost their division, didn’t play conference championship, got in anyway.

2003 Oklahoma-
Lost to Kansas state in conference championship and still made the natty over the “people’s champ” AP poll winner USC

Love that we got rid of a “corrupt” formula that considered statistical analysis plus combined all the polls to give a final answer on rankings only to switch to a panel of 12 people to decide the fate of teams.

Seriously? I can understand former coaches and players having a say, even though biased, but they put condaleeza rice on this committee... I just need an explanation as to how someone who never played and probably hasn’t watched more football than any poster on this site is given the power to help determine who’s deserving to be in the top 4.

That being said, you can’t rule out a one loss ND going in over a one loss UGA. Even though the head to head AT HOME, the extra game in the conference championship, and just outright knowing whose been the better team should make the decision pretty fricking obvious.

Just like when UGA finished the season on fire but didn't win the East. The argument was that if you can't win your own division, you don't deserve to go the 'ship. Well we saw how that changed when Bama/LSU did the same thing a year or two later and had a rematch for the Natty.

We all know college football's priority is making $$$$, so of course they will let a one loss ND in over a one loss UGA. No doubt about it.

It will be a moot point when NCSU beats ND today.
