I can’t say for sure it was the first game I ever saw but the 1971 Johnny Rodgers OU vs Nebraska game is the one that made me a fan.
Not too long after that I attended my first game in Tiger Stadium. Cholly Mac was still alternating Paul Lyons and Bert Jones at that time, I think.

My dad adjusted the rabbit ears on our black & white tv and changed the channel from Bullwinkle & Rocky to some stupid Orange Bowl.
Just kidding.
I did always think Natasha Fatale was fine though.

Nope. I was almost 2 when I went to my first LSU game. Attended games until age 6 then we moved away. I honestly don’t remember any of those games I went to from age 2-6, but I stayed an LSU fan and we listened to them on WWL up in Ohio. I can remember games from when I started at LSU in 1979.

My grandfather took me to see Oklahoma and Missouri 1973. Great time and great game.

First LSU game - vs. Miami 1966.
First Saints game - Game 1 with John Gillium's kickoff return in 1967.
Prior to that - The NFL preseason games played in Tulane Stadium in the mid 1960s.

I never grew up in Louisiana, but my dad did. From a very young age, my dad dressed me up in LSU jumpsuits and clothes. The first game I remember watching with him was in 2008 vs. Miss St. From that day on I watched football with my dad every weekend. It was awesome.

College 1986 Stanford @ Texas
NFL I went to a bunch of Oilers games over the years before I was old enough to know what was going on.

If we're talking college ball at the stadium, 1981 Georgia vs. Auburn.
If we're talking on TV college ball. Georgia vs. S. Carolina 1980.

As a kid,in 1974 my Auburn graduate dad took me to Legion Field to see Auburn vs Louisville in season opener. Auburn won 16-3, but I
don't remember much about it. That same year we flew to Auburn to see Au v Florida State for Homecoming, FSU wasn't very good in those days.. Au won 38-6.

Pitt vs GT at Grant Field 1976. Some guy from Pitt ran up and down the field like he was a superhero or something.
Me: Dad who is that guy?
Dad: (In an extremely pissed off tone after quite a few bourbon and cokes) mutters Tony Dorsett.
Final score Pitt 42 Tech 14.

NO Saints vs LA Rams. Franchise opening game in Sept of 1967. I was 10 years old. Game was in the old Tulane Stadium. Rams kicked off to Saints to start the season and John Gilliam took it to the house in the first play in Saints history. Saints 7 Rams 0. The Rams went on to crush the Saints that day :o(

1993 Sugar Bowl. Watching Bama destroy Miami was something else. I'm sure I saw games before that, but that was the 1st time I can remember sitting as a family watching a game and everyone being estatic as to how it went. Those were the days.
