We can't run play action because the line can't open up lanes. We can't go downfield because the line can't hold up long enough. Its hard to use the screen game when there's no threats of going downfield and you can't use play action. The line extremely limits the playbook.

Yep. I really wish those constantly calling for Jake's head understood how severely limited we are by the OLINE right now. The good news is that they will be better next year. The bad news is that better for this line could still be quite bad. If Blair takes his spot at LT that may be a lot better. It's been said that he got off to a slow start in JUCO only to ball out later and appears to be following the same trajectory here in taking time to adjust.

We also have some good recruits coming in who should be more natural at the various OL positions. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack Jones take a spot early. Blair and Jones would allow others to move to their natural positions.

Yes, our offense has been consistently good while our defense has been a weakness for a long time.

Now that we're ditching the Bama wannabe ball control crap and going back to the spread I'm happy.

When LSU has an efficient qb,our offense is a thing of beauty. When we dont have an efficient qb, its Lynsdey Lohan's vagina during a 3 day coke binge.

"If your offensive game plan is built around tricking someone, you don’t have a chance. You’ve got to be able to put a hat on a hat and play big-boy football and be able to play in a world where you’re tougher than the guy in front of you."

It seems like lots of the good ones do this...

There were a few times I thought Gus was just being stubborn or experimenting during games.

An offense where the OC purposely avoids the middle of the field?

No, I am not a fan.

Yes.

Missouri has become decidedly more balanced and effective on offense since joining the SEC.

The last step to becoming fully integrated to the SEC style is to beef up the size of the OL and RBs - which is happening as we speak.
