With our offense's success I can't really complain, but I want us to throw more than we have with Marshall (outside of the Iron Bowl this season). That was more because of Marshall, so I have a feeling I'll like our version of Gus' offense with JJ.

Hopefully with a more polished passer, the D won't be able to just sell out on the run based on our formation since JJ can make reads in the passing game and throw consistently accurate balls. I just feel like with Marshall, it was either read option or play action with one read or scramble

I like it overall, but it gets predictable especially when we go hurryup.

After a first down, 90% of the time we run it up the middle. This year we were not dominant enough up front or at H back to get as much with that approach.

Next year, I guess we will see a more pass heavy approach.

I think it was the lack of variety in the passing game that got to me this season. It was basically either a quick slant or a play action bomb. Hardly any crossing patterns or quick screens or anything. Adding more variety to the passing game is going to do wonders for opening up the running game without the read option being as prevalent

Exactly. And I think it was because of Marshall. I don't think Gus could trust him to make multiple reads in the passing game. With JJ, I hope we see more complex route trees with more than one real option. It will help the running game too

Agreed. One play I can't stand watching LSU run is that little quick toss dive play. It aggravates the hell out of me. It makes your RB take his eyes off the defense, even if just for a brief second. I just don't see the benefit.

Absolutely. I can't wait to see some pump and go routes again. Those were money with Todd and Cam.

Yea that play drives me nuts. Its suppose to get the ball to the back quicker and allow him to see the holes open up. We are the only team that runs that shite. If it was so good i think it would have caught on by now with other teams. We also have a horrible habit under Les that once a play works too many times we took it away and don't use it again. Les just assumes an adjustment is coming and that it will work unless it is our run up the middle.

Yea, that doesn't seem worth it with all the other variables. I'll gladly waste half a second to not worry about a dropped pitch, let my RB gain some momentum towards the los, and keep his eyes on the holes.

it also cuts out play action working as well. I don't believe we have fumbled on it yet though in all the times we have ran it. I still would like to see it go away

Basically what AU does. We go a little more up tempo, be not a whole lot of hunh

Y'all go way faster than what I am talking about. I want to keep LSU's offense, but just run it out of different formations.

I am actually a fan of the toss dive. Just not 15 times a game. It helps young RBs have more patience instead of running straight into the offensive line. It makes them slow down and see the hole.

id be happy with going no huddle but just draining most of the play clock. force the d to not sub and change our formations. Its too much to ask though with our coaches.

Most of the time I like the Kiffin offense. Sometimes it sputters in the 3rd quarter. I also think we don't make enough use of the tight end and get away from the power running game too often.

Kiffin's gameplan vs Missouri was mind boggling. Alabama could have run power out of the I with Yeldon and Henry all day and sprinkled in the occasional play action to Cooper and/or Howard and Missouri would have had zero hope of stopping it. I've always thought he was a brilliant offensive mind who out thinks himself sometimes.

Like the scheme.

Hate the execution thus far. It's hard to execute when your offensive line gets manhandled by fricking UT Chatt.

I wish LSU employed the same offense Jimbo Fisher does.

Our oline is so bad and Worley was such a square peg forced into a round hole that I'm not sure we've really seen what our offense is like. I think we've seen glimpses with Dobbs in and the playbook finally opening up but with our OL being so weak the pass plays and playcalling in general aren't what we'll see in the future.

I love Bert's philosophy, we just need to upgrade at QB.

Bert ball is a great fit at Arkansas.

We can't run play action because the line can't open up lanes. We can't go downfield because the line can't hold up long enough. Its hard to use the screen game when there's no threats of going downfield and you can't use play action. The line extremely limits the playbook.
