I'm not sure my enthusiasm is high enough to squash. But, anything is better than someone who gets into fights with their own players.

No, id say Mark Stoops, who is 0-4 to CBJ with an average margin of loss of 25 points, is probably worse than CBJ. Just a guess though.

I've mentioned before about the possibility of us getting new helmets. If so, you frickers better bring your A game.

Maybe not at the beginning of the season. But as things go south, and when the final verdict from the NCAA comes out, they very well could end up being the worst team.

Well, we have a top 3 offense. Our D was much improved later in the year when we reverted to our old scheme. We switched to a read and react approach to begin the year that our DL didn't buy into. We have the greatest DT depth we've ever had and our LB depth is way improved. Our corners are unproven, but with an attack DL scheme it may mask it.

Objectively when you look at what Odom did as D.C. at Memphis & his first year here, there's no reason to think the D will not be 7-10 range in the conference. Teams with elite physical corners ala LSU & Florida can jack up our O, but they will eat others alive.

This is a 7 win team that could error 1 game and maybe 2 on breaks. You can choose not believe that like most didn't in 13 & 14, but this team will give others fits. It's not that good, but it will be much improved.

, I couldn't believe a Big 12 school came in right off the bat and was winning the tough SEC East

No one ever accused the SEC East of being tough the past few years. If they had done it in the West or in the mid 2000s it would've been a lot more impressive. The East has sucked arse the past few years. 4 and maybe 5 west teams. Would have won it at least once

that's my thought process. we had a much better talent level in Smiley's year than ole piss has and we only won 4 games. I know how this plays out.

Another rant simpleton trying to hurt VOL fan feelings by making fun of Lyle

OP, it is Mizzou, with Ole Miss making a push if they have some early losses and give up.

Ole Miss was the worst team by far just 9 months ago. Has something happened that makes anybody think they are going to be better, other than the changing of the calendar?

They'll have a legitimate offense, but a dumpster fire defense. I expect a few 49-42 type games early in the season, but once they hit two losses or the penalties come down, they'll completely unravel as their players become more concerned about where they are going to transfer than the next weeks opponent.

Who did they bring in to save a team that got boat-raced by 2 of the bottom teams in the SEC last year? VANDY and MSU made their asses quit and both sucked at the time

what's worse is the coaches quit on you. All of our assistants were checked out and applying for other jobs all season under HC Smile.

This doesn't bode well for the consensus ranking...

that's my point too, i remember being mildly optimistic thinking maybe the season could be salvaged after we fired petrino it couldn't and for the very reason you pointed out the assistants were all short time.

as someone else pointed out earlier in the thread they stunk last year with freeze.

they'll be 2 and 5 coming into their game with us.
