Older LSU fans remember losing to A&M 5 straight years and having to cancel the series in 1995 to stop the embarrassment. Younger fans don't understand the instant and "unearned" notoriety. Smart LSU fans don't like the idea of having a cross-border rivalry with a school with an Endowment 20 times and a state population 5 times larger than that of LSU.

LSU fans hope for a Texas A&M loss more than an LSU win. The obsession with us is real and weird. They hate us as much or more as they do Alabama these days.

That's funny you say that. It's ironically the same time when Florida fans had the best time of their lives when Urban was there. They were the most successful in their history back then. Now they act like he's a disease and speak of him with great disdain. Publicly they lash out at him, but secretly they snuggle with his bobble head. They worship a Yankee Ohioan and they hate to admit it!

This makes no sense though because let's be honest, they don't exactly have any reason whatsoever at the moment to hate A&M.
