Do Bama fans really not see the hypocrisy?

Fan “loyalty” is dependent on a coach or player being good. Fans will want a mediocre coach or player fired or benched in a heartbeat. But if a coach or player goes somewhere else that is better for his situation it’s “OMG, where’s the loyalty?”

Fan love and loyalty is highly conditional.

For Alabama they do They'll just pay for it later when the time comes but right now the hate for Alabama is so strong, they're not considering that right now.

I don't blame them really. We've hurt them badly.

UGA loses 20+ guys to the portal every year and we don’t cry about it.

It’s slightly frustrating/alarming that we’re going through an NCAA required roster decimation process while the portal is closed for other teams. It’s open season on our roster and Alabama can’t backfill a lot of these positions right now.

A lot of our fans will step away from the ledge when our portal closes.

I’m not really sweating it. It will all come back around.

We’ll be able to backfill when the spring portal opens. Of course we’ll have some turnover then as well.

Most Bama fans are trash arse Walmart fans that hopped on the train around 2009 or so. Once the flames get a little higher, they’ll hop off, and onto the next big thing.

The rest of CFB can link arms and destroy any top ~15 program while they have no ability to fill open spots. And it promotes the WORST part of NIL which is shady fly by the seat of your pants money and lambo slinging.

Y’all realy want this?

Sounds like Saban's timing was the problem.

1. All were taken in a standard transfer portal window in fall or spring. This is happening in an extended, one-way, 30 day window. Not the same.

2. Kirby and Sark have been luring assistant coaches and Bama's back-up players from Saban ever since they took their current HC roles in a mostly one-sided assault. UGA can point to 2 players Saban has accepted from UGA since Kirby has been there. Texas can point to none. They're also both guys who owe a lot of their career and success to Saban (and have said as much in their own words)

3. We understand NIL and portal are the new reality, but it's moderation by the NCAA is abysmal and everyone knows it.

4. We're the first blue blood to experience it at this level. Might be one of the last too since few other programs have as large an accumulation of talent on one roster, and I expect it to get reigned in here the next few years. The NIL market still hasn't corrected, and Saban leaving only inflated it.

Those of us that have been around since before Saban will be fine (though some are noticably losing their shite on here lol). At the end of the day we experienced something 99.9% of fanbases in college football never will. Hell, some Bama fans were old enough to see it twice (not me though lol)

The average fan is a complete moron with no real understanding or concept of what it takes to run a program. This goes for every fanbase, BUT Bama's unprecedented amount of success for nearly 2 decades has created an unnatural amount of these assholes for one team. It's like the Yankees, Lakers, Patriots, or Cowboys. The core fanbase is filled with reasonable logical folks but the rest are almost unbearable.

Honestly? I have called out some of my Bama brethren for their naïveté on such things and told them we’d better be prepared to adjust to the new landscape of the sport. Maybe they will get the message so we can get on with the post-Saban world. We played football for 114 years, rather successfully, before he came on the scene, God willing we’ll do the same after him.

Would you rather this or in November/December like LSU/Auburn experienced where it's open season on both your current players and incoming recruits?

Maybe when the portal is open?

Isn't that what you people are having a problem with?

1. Y’all fired your coaches.

2. Y’all could also fill spots.

This is not the same as a regular portal year when there is no coaching change. Bama lost players to the portal, graduation and the draft every year under Saban also. But a legend retiring and a 30- day open season on Bama’s players is different.
