Of course Clemson fans also like to claim a bond with Auburn about how the two campuses are so alike (their words, not mine), and how the students and atmosphere are so similar that there is a sisterhood type feeling with Auburn - a mutual love and respect if you will.

This is the biggest crock of shite ever. I never had a problem with Clemson until I met their fans. There is no way I feel anything close to that shitty school and fanbase. Yes they may be "Auburn with a lake" but are far from having a bond with them.

Yeah, I understand. I feel the same way about Texas being more SEC-like than aTm for the same idiotic adolescent dumassed reason.

1. The same architect designed the early buildings at both Auburn and Clemson.

2. Many similarities because of land grant status

3. The early Clemson uniforms and nickname were taken to Clemson by someone who had coached at Auburn.

4. I think Lewis Grizzard called Auburn- "Clemson without a lake"

So Auburn has a landmark building dedicated to and named-after one of the worst human beings in the history of this country?

Auburn has a Pitchfork Ben Tillman clock tower?

They have a building that looks a lot like it

And chances are, every campus has a building named after someone with questionable morals

Clemson fans honestly believe they are one of Bama's children - a literal offspring of The Bear. They like to call themselves, "The Bama of the ACC."

Lol at scrooster. You're such a bad flamer it's awkward.

I don't know a single Clemson fan who has EVER referred to Clemson as "The Bama of the ACC". I know quite a lot of us have a ton of respect for their program (as anyone with a pulse and knowledge of CFB history would) and it's cool some of the past coaching crossovers, but no one thinks there's any kindred connection.

Also, people say the "Auburn with a lake" simply because of the physical similarities on campus and the mascots. It's an easy way to describe Clemson to someone who's never been there.

Nice flame though.

I couldn't care less about Clemson. Sure Frank Howard, Danny Ford, and now Dabo Swinney all played at Alabama, but they were assistants under very good head coaches. That led to them being hired away. Plenty of schools hired away assistants that played under Frank Thomas, Paul Bryant, and Gene Stallings.

No, FN, "Alabama of the ACC" is a war cry here in Columbia among MANY Clemson fans. So is "SEC North".

I must add that on a scale of 1-10, Clemson's Lake Hartwell is about a 3. Red mud hole that rarely has enough water in it to launch. On the other hand, Auburn has Lake Martin nearby and it is a beautiful lake.

if I'm not mistaken, Clemson's first uniforms were simply faded Auburn practice gear. They kept that faded blue/purple color
