If they did, it was the best money they've ever spent.

Now, on to the most important question. Why are you trolling Auburn when you're about to face tGrind?

Already accepting the loss and moving forward?

I believe in those things where actual evidence is provided.

Y'all don't believe that Auburn paid Cam. Y'all have faith that Auburn paid Cam, i.e. its a form of religion for you, though football related.

You can't prove a goddam thing, of course. But you MUST have faith that it happened. Without that faith, your football world would be shocked and decimated to its core.

Didn't his dad have a $100000 "donation" to his church after Cam committed to Auburn.

This thread makes me wish I could fast forward 20 years into the future to see if this very topic is brought up on a regular basis. Hell yes we paid him & in reality $180,000 wasn't enough. We could have written him a $1,000,000 check & I'd still think he was underpaid.

That's paying players and Texas schools and their boosters are well known for doing this.

No, but he wasn't paid the way you mental midgets yammer about on a daily basis.

Funny thing it do happen. His father received several $10-20 thousand donations to his church that had a congrigation of 10 people. The NCAA could find "no evidence." Meaning they couldn't tie the donations back to auburn. No evidence DOES NOT mean not guilty. Just means they have a weak case.
Plus at the end of the day you have to look at who is going to be effected. The ncaa will never take another championship from a team after USC. The only people that got punished was the team and school. Bush and Pete were in the NFL, untouchable making $. Scandel makes everyone look bad.

I believe this happens a whole lot less than people think. I just don't think kids are good enough at keeping their mouths shut and therefore instances of payments (beyond 20-100 occasional hand shakes) are a rare and almost non existent.

You're absolutely right. No one is completely clean, but there are lots of ways to help out a recruit's family that doesn't involve a cash transaction or a paper trail, and would require subpoena power to prove. Cam became news because cash raises red flags, same thing Ole Miss is learning right now.

Correct. Auburn isn't dumb enough to dump $180k in a black bag in a locker or leave $100k in a collection plate. We have that shite down to a science.

I do not know if we paid him, but if we did we got a DEAL!!!!!

One of the MAJOR reasons we survived this, was that Kenny Rogers (Former MSU Player) who negotiated with MSU coaches NEVER once called Auburn. Auburn had ZERO contact with him. He was on radio and TV talking about the Mississippi State Meetings. In fact if MSU had not gotten amnesty, they would have been on probation.

We certainly did not pay the $180,000 that many of you believe (Neither did MSU), would have been too easy to find. The church records, the personal records of the family were all turned over to the NCAA Gestapo.
