Why couldn't they have played it tonight? Cuts into 2012 World Series of poker replays?

So the players and coaches can go home after being on the road for a month?

Also I believe the US Olympic Trials for swimming is currently in Omaha as well.

Could simply be logistics for that too.

They did read it. The weather delay was addressed. The weekday has now been addressed. Some of you specifically need to read the thread.

Probably to cater to those traveling from out of town.

You mean like the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament, one of the most watched "championships" of all sports?

Key phrase = national title game not NCAA 1st 4 or round of 64

*ahem* Ok everyone, I got this.

You're right neaux, there are no other major sports that play their national title game in the middle of a weekday. Let's all LOL at college baseball and its inferiority to other athletic events.

Now let's all move on with our lives.

Yes, and the game that is deciding the national title started at 1:00 pm or whatever time on a Thursday. You understand this, right?

Ratings probably have been so bad, they just decided to get it over with as soon as possible.

I'd say the logic is pretty simple. It's a best-of series, which means they have no idea ahead of time how many games it will go. So unless they want to stretch the series out potentially to August by only having games on weekends in case the one game turns out to be the title game, they're going to schedule these things with the knowledge that a title game might be played during the week.

"Might" be played during the week? All three games were scheduled for Monday - Wednesday. They are being played on a weekday on purpose. They didn't just happen to fall on a weekday by chance...
