It's no big secret that winning brings out the bandwagon fans.

True story - I watched the Iron Bowl in mixed company in 1989. One person watching I had not met didn't have on any colors so I figured he was not an especially big fan. I asked who he was pulling for. I will not say which team but he said he brought his teams sweatshirt but was going to wait until after the game before wearing it if his team won.

That's a good example of bandwagon fans. Several of us that were drinking told him he could put it on now or not at all. He seemed shocked it wasn't appropriate to wait until after the game to decide.

Love all these dipshits feeling the need to explain themselves and their backgrounds. "I got a Bachelors in '09 and blah blah" shut up. Nice steak OP.

Dunno about the gumps, but sounds like you've already forgotten about the current Saban era and their record vs you in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, etc.

LSU fans are always saying we live in the past. If you mean last week, last year , last 10 years or even the last 60 years you would be right.
It does seam you all are always living in the future. How great you will be next year.

P.S. seeing coach O at LSU will provide the perfect reminder for bama fans of what the shula years were like.

I know Bama fans love numbers and stats (especially the number 6). How about these numbers... 27-3, 26-10, 16-13, 28-14, 41-34. This is the score to the LSU & Bama games from 2003-2007. Yes, LSU won all of these games which made it 5 in a row. Nick Saban took over in 2007 and the games between LSU & Bama started going either way again.

This was basically what the OP was trying to get across.. Try being objective for once and it might help you "get it".

I remember the "Mike" Archer years at LSU too.

I know I went to more games then than I do now. Which I was in college then, so I went to more games everywhere than I do now.

But now I feel like the fairweather fans have it under control and I can take it easy and just enjoy the championships. Should Bama ever have a bad stretch like they did in the early 00s, which they won't barring sanctions, then I will be ready if needed to pull them through the hard times.

Oh and OP, I'm 42, so yeah, I remember the Stallings years and even a little Perkins. The only reason I might not remember Fran, Shula, Price, Dubose years would be because i was drunk and drugged during those years.

The series record is 51–25–5.

At no point in history of any meaningful size have the games ever "gone either way"

Prior to the Mike years LSU had never defeated Alabama more than twice in a row.

Basically LSU had one good 5 year stretch against Alabama and has been absolutely dominated outside of that.

... Of course we do. That's part of why we are fully LIVING in the Saban years. I was born in the 90s and I grew up hearing people say I missed out on the good years and that Bama would never be great again.
