Pretty well written article. Glad to see someone gets it.

As someone who has seen the best and the worst of Bama football, you learn to appreciate the best, rag the shite out of the lesser programs when it happens, and know when it's not the best...one day it will be again. In the words of the immortal Foghorn Leghorn "I can takes it son, but I prefers to dish it out". I've dished out a lot, I'll be dishing a lot more this year.

The lesser programs don't have this, and honestly can't understand it. It's like the Troy Aikman commercial..."Yeah, I live in the past", and everyone one else would too if they had a storied past a fraction as good.

Doesn't mean we can't live in the now too. And now...Alabama is National Champion for the 11th time since I've been on this earth.

Feels just as good this time as it has all the rest. So get ready you fans of lesser programs, try to tear us down. You know where to find us.

On top.

I disagree and am confident Harris will improve from his freshman year to his sophomore year. Most do.

Harris barely played his freshman year.

I don't see how anyone with an ounce of self-respect can say they give up, surrender and just wanna sit back and watch their opponent win or Nick Saban work. So while I may be the exception to the rule, no I don't feel that way at all. If I did I'd be screaming cancel TSIO and why should we have to play Bama every year when no one else in the East does?

One thing the author fails to reconcile, or rather reconciles by simply giving up, is his posit that we're in an age of parity but parity by all accounts isn't happening. His solution to that is to just stand in awe of what he conceives, correctly imo, as a machine but that doesn't solve the obvious contradiction between the notion of parity and the fact that Saban has proven through this great run that parity does not exist.

So this past off-season, LSU fans weren't trying to convince us that he had made huge leaps since his freshman year? I just imagined that?

He was better this year than his freshman year.

His statistics his freshman year were accumulated against OOC opponents and Mississippi State's backups. The one game he started was arguably the worst game started by a quarterback that LSU has had in 5-6 years.

He was improved this year, more comfortable with the offense, and able to make some pretty big plays downfield for LSU.

Obviously, the hope is that he will continue to get better before next season.

Nice pictures. I'll GLADLY lose to ole miss again for another pic like this next year.

Congrats on the natty.

The thread was about whether other fans wanted to surrender to Nick Saban. Why would we want to surrender to Nick Saban? He's .500 against Hugh Freeze and has lost the last two.

He's about 3-4 plays away (one being one of the biggest freak plays of all time) from 5 NC's in a row.

2 miracles and a mulligan away from losing 4 of last 6 to LSU

Everybody has a chance. That's why they play a whole season of games.

One year a long time ago, I heard that Tulane football went undefeated! ANYTHING can happen if that happened.

The point of the original post was asking whether or not all college football fans want to surrender to Nick Saban. Why would we surrender when our coach is 2-2 against him and has won the last two in a row? Your reading comprehension skills need some work. Here's your homework:

He makes their asses quit.

What's really ridiculous, so far as the other coaches are concerned, is that 75% of his process is not really a secret: he's just willing to do the grunt work; to watch the tape; to think about and cover the angles; to focus on his job, and they aren't. They'd rather play golf or whatever.

I will gladly watch us lose to you guys the rest of my life, if it guarantees us a spot in the playoff. Y'all can enjoy watching us on tv, saying to each other, "Hey at least we beat the national champ."

What's funny is that the Bammers are the only ones who don't realize , Nick is bigger than the Team, the University, and the entire state and fan base of Alabama.

Think about it , all the discussion is that he's won 4 in 7 years , not the team.

The parity is already there. Bama is a 4th and 25 freak lateral away from not even being in Atlanta.

Damn right parity is there. That's why it's even tougher than ever to accomplish what he has.

For the most part. Granted, it could be worse. It could be Ole Miss, Arkansas or A&M making this run.

No it couldn't
