It's pretty convenient that one of the 'bought' examples is Darrent Williams.

The mob would make one of them "disappear" and the others would suddenly get a bad case of CRS

Nothing in that story surprised me. I suspect the former player allegations are partially true, but over exaggerated and that some form of booster help for a fraction of the players occurs at every major college football program in the country.

No big deal, IMO.

No, they quoted that guy two sentences later. In the sentence about Miles, they were pointing out the expansion of the Orange Pride program, which eventually led to a group of the girls having sex with recruits.

Dude, come on. They are desparately trying to spice up that story. Typical Evans tactic.

Darrent Williams can't defend himself because he's dead. He was the Broncos cornerback who was shot to death in a limo

big time football schools do not have boosters walking around handing out envelopes of cash in the locker room.

Well you're an idiot.

I can't wait for Evans' piece on UCLA citing all the money Pasquale received.

I didn't know Thayer Evans had a restraining order against him. Is this internet rumor or fact?

Not trying to defend him for the liberties he takes with his reporting, but I am just curious about the domestic violence thing.

It really just seemed like a bunch of bitter people tattling and a bunch of other people denying it. Which is like every other story they publish.

I don't know about a RO from his wife. But I think he either got one or came very close to getting one from some members of Tyrann Mathieu's family. He stalked them for a while, and when they ignored him, he just made stuff up for the article.

That article conveniently came out the week LSU played Alabama. Crazy.

I'm the least cool sum bitch on this board, and IDGAF. Also, I'm not cynical...I'm pragmatic. We all pay players. It may not be in envelopes in the locker room, but EVERY team pumps a little cash out.

Well, first off I said "do you think every school is handing out envelopes stuffed with cash to players" and the response was yes. Now you are moving the goal posts. Regardless, again, no, not every big time school has a system in place to illegally funnel cash to athletes. They just don't. For most big time schools it isn't worth it. A school like Alabama or LSU or Texas does not need to pay players. It's schools like OSU that do.
