I would think YES. There were many calls that could have gone either way, that Clemson got the benefit. I think with SEC refs, Bama would have gotten the benefit and won the game. Any game that is that close could be swayed by a slight "tilt" in presumption by the refs.

Also, if the rest of the SEC would have been more competitive this year, I think Bama would have had been a little more prepared and had just a little more gas in the tank at the end to make a difference. SEC teams - you get some of the blame (credit) for the loss too!

Hmmmmm, well lets review:

SEC = Bama's home conference

Officiating office = Birmingham = Bama

Best team in SEC = Bama

Nah, don't think it would've helped.

No. Pretty sure SEC refs had Alabama's opponents as the least penalized in the country this year so probably would have been worse for Bama.

Nope. Game would have played out exactly the same and refs would have had zero impact on the outcome, just like most games.

That's an LSU thing to blame refs, sec office, scheduling, etc on losses. We'll let you guys hold on to that type mentality.

Wait,so all the sec has to do to beat bama is be bad enough to not test the Tide all season. We are so fricked now.

No, SEC refs would have called those targeting penalties and ejected Bama players.

A stronger SEC makes for a stronger SEC champion - maybe you should consider processing less 4 star recruits to ride the bench!

It's cute that you think I'm being serious. I really don't give a shite. Officials simply don't cause wins and losses.

I think Bama wins that game with any other crew than a B12 crew.

Had refs called the "pick-play" penalty on either or both of the two Clemson touchdowns, do you think Bama would have won?

Refs judgement can definitely sway a close game. You could argue that your team deserved to lose because they let it get that close...but, still the refs can control the outcome.

Our refs are so bad anything is possible. We may have won by 3TD's and so could have Clemson.

Good question... Normally I would say yes but bama sucked so bad I don't even think their usual crew could have saved them

Yep, seems to be a trend set in 2012 by #1 ranked SEC teams playing #2 ranked teams on 01/09.

I think so. But, hey, don't tell the gumps that is what you think. They know that everything about the officiating is even-steven...
