Anytime prior to the 50s. And the 90s.

I think both schools are ok with mediocre seasons.

I do believe that if Ole Miss/State has 5 straight seasons at 9-4 that their coach would be under less heat than say a Bama/LSU coach doing the same thing.

But with that being said the OP saying that Ole Miss going 7-6 and we happy compared to States 8-5 and changes coaches is just stupid.

Both teams were in such different places. State was coming into the season hoping to compete in the West and in Mullens 4th season. And started 7-0 against shitty teams. Then go 1-5 against the beat 6 teams they played. And got embarrassed in their bowl game. That's why they are having changes. I personally believe Mullen has hit his ceiling.

Ole Miss was coming off a 2-10 season. Look back most people projected us to finish last in West with 2-3 wins again. We finished 7-6 and lost 3 games to TAMU, LSU, and Vandy all games that we led with 2 minutes left in the game. And now we are leading for the top overal recruit AND top overal WR. Not to mention all the other badasses we may pull. A top 10 recruiting class is very likely for us. And we also dominated in our bowl game.

So for the TL:DR people:

Ole Miss SSSSTTTTAAACCCKKKEEEDDD
State FFFFUUUUCCCKKKEEDDD

Pitt's band played Journey today. It's obvious they were trolling State.

Says the guy whose team lost to a team that hasn't won a bowl in 64 years.

I can't figure out why MS St fans spend their lives trying to prove why they are better than Ole Miss.

Difference is we have a new coach, staff and ad. We are rebuilding, and we're only projected to win 3 games. So yes excuse me while I celebrate. We weren't the ones that underachieved this year.

Ole Miss goes 6-6 in High Freeze's first year after finishing 2-10 last year and no one can blame them for thinking their coaching staff is the best thing since sliced bread.

When I first saw the thread I thought WTF. Then I looked at your name and was like "there's no way he's being serious. He knows better than this."

At MSU, we win 8 games and get rid of both the Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator.

There are a couple of things you might want to consider...

Coaches that start 7-0, only to finish 1-5, lose badly to their instate rival, and get smashed in their bowl find themselves on the hot seat.

Coaches on the hot seat also tend to make wholesale staff changes in an effort to buy themselves more time.

This is unpossible.

He can't possibly be on the hot seat. According to State fans, he was to take a higher profile job in the near future, and Mark Hudspeth was going to take over at State.
