Not really. It's just funny how it's played after close game even though it uses that phrase.
I think it's a matter of perspective. Would one consider it more "getting the hell beaten out of them" to lose a close game or a heartbreaker or to get boatraced and lose by seven touchdowns?

Most classless university-sponsored cheer in America. It is an embarrassment to the University of alabama but most of their fans are not smart enough to realize it. One would think a school that has won so many football games and titles (real and imagined) would not be the one to use that cheer.

When you beat someone in OT or by scoring in the last minute, it isn't "beating the Hell out of" them at all.

People like you say things like this because it has the word hell in it, but in an age when you can hear bitch and arse on network television, I think it's pretty tame by comparison.

I pray to God that guy never reads the words to Auburn's fight song then...it says hell TWICE...

I don't see anything wrong with the cheer at all. People need to lighten up.

Even in a close game (or even a loss) Alabama generally beats the hell out of the other team.

Exactly. But the lone LSU fan above says "We just beat the hell out of you" is the most classless cheer in 'Murica.

[quote] Yeah, but closeness of score doesn't matter in chanting of good natured song. /quote]

It's the same logic as "act like you've been there."

That logic needs to go.

It's actually the coolest cheer in college football.
