Freeze is probably one of the strangest transitions out there due to his job at OM. He was very involved beyond his old job title and knew every nook and cranny; every strength and weakness of the program. He knew it's players, and upcoming recruits and what they were fit for but it's still not the same as being HC.

Although his experience there was certainly an advantage in transitioning, what he has been able to do at OM has been remarkable.

How is he any more strange than Malzahn going back to Auburn?
