When the BCS matchup was announced, I posted the question and was critisized by many LSU fans for originally bringing it up. Most said there was no pressure on the team; fans if anybody. Looking back now, how much pressure did the rematch really put on the players, and specifically CLM?

Hard to say. Bama had more to prove by being elected into the game. That may have helped them.

No excuses for LSU though.

When you have two very strong teams that play twice in one year, it's not uncommon that they would split the games.

Bama just won the game for the BCS Title.

Congrats to them.

Most have noted how lifeless LSU looked prior to the game. It probably did play a role in the outcome, but I think CLM sticking with Jefferson played a bigger role.

Yes, I said from day one that LSU had the most pressure. Think about if the roles were reversed. Alabama comes to BR and beats LSU. Bama goes on to play in the SECCG. Who then has the most pressure on them, one would think Bama. To me the losing team always has the upper hand in playing again, the taste of losing is one that no football player wants to taste. I guarantee if we would play again in a week or so, Bama has the pressure on them. So yes, we did.

We had already lost the first game. Nothing to lose really. I have no idea why people thought more pressure was on Alabama before the game.

This is why rematches are stupid...only one team has something to prove. I didn't talk any trash leading up to the game because I knew we were lucky to win on 11-5 and Bama had all the motivation this time...it showed in the coaches drastically changing their game plan and LSU decided to stick with what worked last time. Monumental strategic error by the coaches...they gotta be kicking themselves right now.

It must have. I mean a team that goes 12-0 including beating the #2 team at their stadium, then getting 'rewarded' by having to play another high ranked team in their home state for the SEC title, then having to play a rematch against the same team it beat, tends to put pressure on you.

Especially when 80% of rematch games in bowls have been won by the loser of the first game, and many by large scores.

And especially when the opponent in the NCG is "perceived" to be one of the two best teams, but came in second in their own division.

My question. Why do we even """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" H A V E """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
