I just don't understand the complete and utter denialist mentality some white folks have. It's literally unfathomable to me.

You know what we don't understand? Why for every black man unjustly killed by a white cop, 10,000 are shot by other black men. But you guys never address that.

It's why the entire term and movement of BLM is such a punchline in the white community. Couldn't have picked a more ironic and self defeating mantra if you tried.

Actually, full athletic scholarship players save their families a TON of money by not having to pay for food, housing, tuition, etc.

Hell,he could pay for it.Between Pell Grants,COA stipends and housing stipends you can pocket some cash especially if you're smart with off campus housing choices.

It can add up to between 18 to 20k tax free cash. Why couldn'the he afford $300 to $400 a month car payments or lease?

It is not addressed because when black man A kills black man B. Black man A goes to jail. When white cop A kills a black person too often nothing happens to that cop. Although the killing is bad, what causes outrage is that nothing happens to the officers and I feel they have a green light to shoot because they aren't being reprimanded.

Anyone can get a car loan.

if you are a small bank in BR, you can give him $30k loan with deferred payments for 6 months, all based on future earning potential.

it is no different than banks giving good loans to resident doctors. some of which are eligible for 100% home financing.

no one should care. let the guy eat.

Yes, but unless they are wealthy it's irrelevant what he is saving them by being on scholarship. That's why I was asking.

Unless they had the means to pay for his college it doesn't matter because of they dnot they weren't going to anyway.

I fail to understand what you are insinuating. A family doesn't have to be wealthy to afford car payments for a college age kid or even a highschool age kid.

i dont think people understand how buying cars work. they see an athlete in front of a nice car and assume he cant afford it.

it's not like he had to walk in the dealership and drop 60k in bundled 100s on the table.

he's probably paying some low monthly note with terrible interest. when he gets his first paycheck he can pay the entire car off.

So, you're saying that all cops, knowing that there's a good possibility that there will be witnesses and/or filming-social media issues (including their own car and body cams) just arbitrarily shoot suspects (black or white) for NO REASON ?? JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT ?? - AGAIN - """""KNOWING"""" that they may be being filmed and may lose their job, be suspended, or worse ??????, you're saying they do it ANYWAY !!

Wow..

Just to play Devil's Advocate, the Ferguson, BR and St. Paul cops may have, and may prove to have gone too far. But what about the white suspects that are shot, what about the suspects shot by black officers? Those like, magically don't count ?????
I guess not, because you don't ever see those on the media.

Of the thousands of traffic and other police stops across this country every year, the only ones that evidently count or really happen are the few like
Ferguson, BR, and St. Paul, that are nationally sensationalized ??????

Yes, there shouldn't be ANY police killings of suspects, black or white (except if the suspect points a weapon or shoots at the cop.)

But the media and these movements act
like these sensational black suspect killings happen every day by the hundreds all across the country.
If that were the case, we wouldn't have any cities left.

In the last 3 weeks, in suburban New Orleans Jefferson Parish (not the city), where murders hardly EVER happen, a caucasion Jefferson Parish Detective was shot in the back by an African American
suspect on probation who was to about to rob someone. The suspect reached behind his pants and pulled out his gun (stolen of course), reached behind the Detective's shoulders and shot him in the back, then, as the Det. was on the ground, he shot him several more times. The killers reason? "I was on probation and didn't want to go back to jail." So you KILL a cop ???????????

Last week, also in suburban Jefferson Parish, a Caucasian shift manager for Raising Cane's was stabbed eight times by a black former employer and 3 others who were robbing the place at 1:00 in the morning. He severed one ear, plunged the knife into her heart and lungs and stomach, and nearly severed here aorta and jugular vein.

Where are the BLM matter people, the national media, the 'protest marches' the 'vigils' the walks and marches blocking traffic, the black "LEADERS" outraged at the senseless of those killings ??
Where's the press conferences, the national outrage, the President's address to the media ????????

You know how easy it would be to get a car loan if you're Leonard Fournette?

His parents have worked at good jobs for many years. I'm sure they also got car loans...

Don't let little things like facts get in the way of your narrative here- neither video shows the cop actually on top of the guy, and not one time in either video did I see him stop moving, until he was shot. He continued to struggle and fight the whole time. But like I said, don't let facts get in your way.

That's not at all what I am saying, and honestly I know I can't get my point across via a message board and neither can you. However, I know all cops aren't bad, all black people aren't bad, neither are all Muslims. I don't believe the cops are shooting these men solely because they are black, I believe their is a lack of knowledge and understanding of black culture causing SOME police to have a short leash with black people. In my heart I don't think most of these police involved in these shootings saw this as an opportunity to shoot a black person. But I know the fear is there because I have experienced it personally several times. I won't address you other points because I'm not familiar with those events and the aftermath. Also I don't believe in "black leaders" who are they? They don't speak for all of us. Again I can't change your opinion on a message board but if you really interested send me a pm. I'll be happy to talk to you.
