Chavis will go to A&M if they do $2Mil per for 4-5 years.

WTF? He gets paid that now at LSU.

He gets $1.3 Mil per and is a month away from being in the final year of his deal. $2 Mil per is an additional 700K and higher than current top paid coaches Muschamp and Foster. LSU has chosen not to lock him up, so this is not that odd of a rumor.

Combine that with the Head Coach flirting with Michigan and Arkansas, and being under heat from LSU boosters, it's a recipe for something happening. Borderline malpractice for the AD.

Not buying this story one bit. What do we know about Chief? He's probably the most loyal coach in the county west of Blacksburg.

Well A&M did think they were getting Bud Foster too so this story could be plausible.

You're right.

The more plausible story is that Chavis showed interest in a job to sabotage recruiting efforts for a player that he wasn't recruiting and that end up going to Texas.

And then personally he doesn't end up with a raise.

Great move!

OR

The more plausible story is that there is not one.

You said it yourself, A&M could pay Chavis $2M.

Well, if they want him, why haven't they done it? And if they have, why hasn't Chavis accepted the $700K raise in pay job opportunity?

The two best defensive players in the State of Texas just said no thanks to the Aggies.

Spurrier said it when UNC football got busted: when you coach in college football for a long time you gain a reputation for being who you are, and "everybody knows who we are as coaches".

Translation: everybody knew that UNC asst coach was dirty.

Everybody knows John Chavis is as straight a shooter as they come; it's why he isn't a great recruiter, because he hates the bullshite and lies. Don't believe a word of this.

Really hard time believing Chavis did this.

Seems completely made up.

He is the opposite of the kind of person that would do this.

John Chavis is the best coach we have at LSU period, and underpaid for what he does compared to the rest of them that includes CLM. He is the reason we win year end year out, as you know it's not our offenses we are known for. LSU defense always as a rule keeps us in the game until and if the offense can eventually put enough point us to win each game. I hope he never leaves LSU. I understand he doesn't want a HC position, he likes what he does, and he is he BEST in many people estimation including mine.
