Why is he so bad now? Is the Auburn job that bad? Hopefully he can get out of there asap and rescue his career.

It's like a man that had a falling out with his one true love, only to rush into marriage with another woman while his heart still belongs to the ex.

VOLS and Bruce both need each other in the worst way iyam

Auburn wants to say they made it to the football playoffs and doing all they can to get FCS status to make that happen.

He seems to be worse now. He has the talent, but some of the things that happen on the court for Auburn just confuse me. Vandy would get their defense set, Auburn would walk or run the ball to the top of the arc, they would be covered, and then shoot up a quick 3 that would brick off the rim and Vandy would rebound. I've noticed this in a few Auburn games the past few years. Idk if he's telling them to do that or what. Why not wait on your team and set up a play to score? They're all trying to act like superstars instead of playing as a team. If they could get it together they would be a dangerous team. Idk if that's coaching, or if these players just are selfish.

That sounds like a good line. I'm going to use it for the next 3 or 4 years

He's starting 4 freshman who are making freshman mistakes. This team will get better.

That said, I don't think he was ever a great X's and O's coach. But he is an elite recruiter and he's bringing an unprecedented amount and level of talent into the program. We might not win a 'ship under Pearl but he can get us to a level to be a consistent tournament team. He's going to leave the program in much better shape than he found it and make it so we can attract more good coaches in the future.

he has his players in. He has 5 star players on the court also. Doesn't he have at least 2 five stars? He should be able to at least be competitive.

Bruce aint got it anymore. Has upgraded massively in talent since last year, but the product looks like the same teams from previous years. No fundamentals. Hell we had 3 on 2 chances where we actually threw the ball to a trailer on the wing for a 3. They did that shite twice. You should shoot layups or get fouled with 3 on 2.

It's a young group and f very talente players. Bruce will be fine and AU will be happy they gave him a job while still under NCAA show cause.

We've been competitive excerpt against Vandy and Purdue.

both the 5*s are true freshman, one is 17 and should be a HS senior right now and the other was fringe 5*. Big difference between that and the top 10 guys Kentucky gets. None of our guys are 1 and done.

Guys contributing minutes include:

5 Freshman
1 Sophomore
1 Junior
1 Senior who came from JUCO
2 Grad Transfers

We're coming off a season last year where we were down to 7 scholarship players at one point. Everybody knew it was going to take time and that we'd be young this year. We're about who we thought we'd be this year.

Didn't expect 0-2 in conference play - and to get blown out by a very mediocre Vandy team looks kinda, um, bad.

And stop it with the "young team" shite. All I saw was how good this team is regardless (and possibly a tourney team) a week or so ago. Now it is all about "youth." Please. It's his 3rd year and he is the head coach. Expect more. You have a long season to get it straightened out though - but Pearl's SEC record kinda sucks.

I will say that some of the older AU posters here knew better. Sorta like I know Bama will struggle this year. I'll be all over Avery though if Bama is still struggling next year.

Is that before or after the Pearl initiated probation?
