The Problem is there's "no more gimmick". Gus needs a Nick Marshall to run around and make plays. He currently has a taller, darker Matty Mauck

This, and the fact that he wants so desperately to prove he can run his offense with a pocket passer. His offense is just so much more deadly with a running QB.

In fairness, the JSU coach is only removed from high school coaching for two years. He is probably more used to gimmick coaching than other seasoned coaches.

That's ALWAYS been the downside with the spread offense IMHO!!!
You need the "right" type of QB. The emphasis isn't that great in traditional offenses.
