Did anyone really think LSU, Florida, A&M

Would be the only ones left undefeated by the beginning of October? Personally, I thought Florida was to be an 8-4 team this year and still can but they have shown a lot of improvement, and A&M's defense has risen to the occasion for the most part, and I knew fournette was a monster but never expected this. No troll, just surprised with the SEC this year.

No way. LSU has really surprised me.

This. I didn't think they were going to stand a chance vs Auburn before the season started.

Yeah auburn really showed us that preseason rankings mean absolutely nothing.

not many people on this board knew much about LSU. They liked to think they knew, but they didn't. Most thought Fournette was overrated. Plenty thought the defense would stoop to Tulane level.
I figured A&M would improve defensively, of course.
UF is the real surprise here. Mind blowing what McElwain has done in 1 year.

Yep, I figured Auburn would win also. Figured we would have gone 1-1 vs Hogs/MSU.
Florida is not as much a surprise. If they keep winning then that will be the biggest surprise.

Yea, everyone thought UF was going to beat Ole Miss.

After several years, I've noticed that SEC fans are much more prone to making baseless, off-season predictions.
And many of em argue their opinions to the death.
To answer your question, it doesn't surprise me, just like it wouldn't have surprised me if the current standings were inverted.
From top to bottom, buncha damn good teams in this conference

I still don't think we know a whole lot about lsu, other than Leonard Fournette is a beast. They nearly lost to Miss state and didn't look great against Syracuse or Eastern Michigan. They're undefeated, all that matters at this point, but the best 5 teams on their schedule are still left. I don't think anyone else in the conference can say the best 5 teams on our schedule are in the future.
If you're ready to crown lsu after what you've witnessed so far then you need to pay better attention.

the real test for LSU comes vs UF
I just hope LSU doesn't overlook a hungry South Carolina team

Because aggie has been proving it on the field since 1939.

This will tell us a lot about both teams. I think a close game would indicate they're both capable of winning the league. Lsu matches up well with Florida offensively. The Florida offense against lsu defense really intrigues me though.

Within the context of the OP re LSU, Florida, and A&M.
Already said I thought Auburn was going to beat LSU. Auburn had Heisman candidate and high ranking.
Figured we had a good chance to beat Ark or MSU but thought we might lose one. Not that surprised if we won both.
Ole Miss sucks arse on the road in Florida. If you are looking for a pat on the back for beating Ole Miss... here it is. Congrats.

You forgot that Auburn only beats LSU every four years.

Yes, I expected that if the Aggies performed up to par we would be undefeated at this point.
It was very reasonable to think that with the young players coming back on D and a competent DC we would be better.
I didn't drink the Auburn koolaid, but didn't expect LSU to manhandle them.
Florida is good, but I also think that OM is showing that they are still OM. Freeze does have excellent bagmen.
