UT had a solid team in 2009, especially the defense.

So you are saying LSU still has a chance?

Tenn out gained Bama FWIW

We basically out gained Auburn 2 to 1, but penalties and turnovers kept them in the game

No. I was just happy to get the win and stay undefeated. That's what it's all about right now. Staying undefeated while everybody else gets weeded out.

Every team has off games. Alabama didn't play very well offensively that day, but the defense was dominant. The game was never in doubt until the last three minutes. We were up 12-3 and running the clock out when Ingram fumbled, Tennessee scored on a short field and then got the onside kick. Obviously after that we were a little scared But no, we won and went into our off week 8-0 so nobody was too upset. Tennessee was also coming off a bye and we were playing our 8th straight game, the previous four weeks also against SEC teams. People understood it was survive and advance that day.

got McClusterfricked in that game. Monte Kiffin looked lost against spread teams and it was the worst game UT played in 09. and a trio of thugs Janzen, Nukeese, and Edwards got arrested a couple of days before the game.

How many more retarded threads about the Bama/UT game in 2009 are scared LSU fans gonna start. UT was a solid team in 09' AU 12' sux.

I think if LSU had played that game with Auburn after they'd beaten a few decent teams, there would have been a different reaction. UT wasn't a one win team, and Alabama had already played a few top 25 teams.

Close games happen in the SEC. People will find out soon enough if LSU was just having an off day or if they are going to show the effects of the lost players, etc. Either way, it's no reason to jump ship.

I don't spend all day, everyday on here so I haven't seen a thread on it. I'm not scared. I know we have one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the country. Our first year QB just won his first SEC game on the road in front of 90,000 hostile fans. Just wondering how Bama fans felt when they eked by a shitty UT team at home. That's all.

I felt good after the game. The only reason UT had a chance at the end was because Ingram had a fluke fumble while trying to run out the clock. IIRC, Ingram was a shoelace away from taking the previous play 90 yards for a TD.

That game was one of the most fun I've ever been to. Plus, it was a rivalry game. Everyone knows rivalry games always have the potential to go awry. It didn't worry me for a second that Alabama wasn't good. The only people I think thought that were LSU fans. I don't think we dropped in the polls or anything.

I think y'all lost the top spot in the polls and didn't regain it until y'all stomped UF in the SECCG. Goes to show how much the polls mean this time of year.

It's one of Alabama's most celebrated wins. Fans have images of that block hanging in their homes and offices. UT is a rival, though, and the dramatic ending leaves a better taste in the mouth than the LSU-AU game might.

I, if I were an LSU fan, would be very happy that a game like that came along sooner rather than later. A team has to be tested from time to time in order to reach their full potential and to keep from getting the big head. I imagine your coaches will use this a lot in the future...

Just checked...Florida was top of the polls for the weeks before in the coach's poll...that never changed.

Florida was top until the week before the Alabama-UT game, when Alabama was #1 for a week... and after that game, they put them back to #2 in the AP.

We Bama fans can be said to be a lot of things; arrogant, delusional, full Gumps, whatever you want to toss our way, but no fan base anywhere in the country can touch LSU fans for being completely bipolar. Beat a bad team and you people are destined to destroy all. Play a close game and LSU fans start seeing end of the world, extinction level events on the horizon. That's why no fan base can touch LSU fans at melting down.

Hell, we even kept thinking the team was on the verge of being back during the Shula years. Bama fans don't jump ship, we remember when.

I remember thinking we were so close to being good again during the Shula years because every game was so close. I thought we just needed more depth and we would start winning the close ones. I can't remember getting blown out many times under Shula.
