I guarantee it sucks for the victim more than the fans.

That is the thing bugging me most about this. Here the media is focusing on his Heisman hopes, how he probably just lost the Heisman trophy, what this does to FSU and their season, how this affects him.

What about being concerned about the girl he raped, if in fact it is found to be rape? That is arguably more important than any football game, or individual football player.

I am going to be sooo pissed if this blemishes another championship for us.

2009- Colt got hurt
2011/12- Backdoored our way in
2013- Rapist Jameis gets sent to jail

Well they don't know the girl and they don't if he really did it and neither do you, so its pretty small minded for you to think they could really have a story to tell there.

He'll win it.
Once voters sit down, look at the numbers in earnest, and actually put "pencil to paper," I can't imagine that it won't be a pretty lopsided vote.

Uh what? You think Urban Meyer is pulling strings on a Tallahassee PD investigation that started almost a year ago? How delusional are you?

He needed to throw a Saban to Texas comment at the end of that for maximum effectiveness.

That's not arguable at all. Rape should be punishable by life in prison.

While I completely agree that this is where the focus should be, the only reason this is a story at all is because of Winston's status in the Heisman race and his team being undefeated. Naturally that's what influences the tilt of the coverage.

Not saying it's right (or excusable), but that's the way media has always worked. It's a damn shame.

Once voters

The old timer heismans who feel the award is prestigious and felt he acted like a clown after he won it. Or the media who also seems to dislike him? Those are the voters man not me or you. I love him but they aren't giving me a ballot to punch. Who knows you may end up being right especially now that Winston is taking a media hit but I wouldn't count my chickens too soon.

Of course they don't know the girl, that's not what I meant at all. But there seems to be no consideration here for a young woman whose life, if her story bears out, has taken a huge hit that she may never recover from emotionally.

Perhaps the sports media could do a story that focuses the effects of rape on the victims, and how it's a crime of power and control rather than sex. Examine what drives athletes to rape.

LOL you don't think this psychological study hasn't been done a 100x already and discussed on tv because I have seen many shows on it over the years. Are you a woman by any chance?

In.

But not in a forcible way.

A tender, loving "in".
