Gets me every time. They're some shitbags in Austin, but I'll never forget that day.

LSU's band is always great, the single best college band performance I have seen live was at the 08 Bama/LSU game and that is including the MDB.

Tennessee's would be 2nd in the SEC to me (out of 13 so not to rank the MDB) but only if they had never and never again play that god forsaken Rocky Top. They always put on a great show (granted every Bama UT game I'v been to we've either been up big at the half or I was hammered drunk like in 09)

Ok, it's not the band, but the unimaginative halftime shows and such...

I agree with this. Unfortunately we (the band members) don't pick the music,so its whatever the directors decide. Believe me, there are plenty of shows we don't like to play either.

Isn't there another Bama poster in here also in the Bama band? RTR America or rtr14 or something like that?

Maybe, I know one bama poster is a sax player (says so in his name) but IDK an exact number of who's all on here in the band.

Looking forward to seeing y'all perform on Kyle Field

Looking forward to going. It's going to be a great game. I just hope it won't be 100+ degrees. I was hoping for a night game.

ETA: I've only seen aTm's band once live, but I've seen them a few times on youtube. Do they always play those same songs? They sounded pretty similar. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That being said, it's really a shame that more people don't show the band some love. As someone who's done it, people have no idea the time, effort, and heart that most of those kids in the band put in. Double digit hours EVERY week in rain or shine, sweltering heat or sleeting cold, the band is out there putting together a show for the audience. It really pisses me off to see people totally ignoring the halftime shows and hardly hearing any applause when the band finishes playing. The lack of appreciation is one of the reasons I ended up quitting. It's too bad, but it is what it is. I'm off my soapbox now

^^^This times 10000. All we ever get is a somewhat apathetic response from our crowd, and boos from LSU's fans. (shite at least THEY were paying attention to us. ) Whenever we try to ask for some respect, all we get is a bunch of
, from almost everyone.

Unless it rains (and even then it'll be humid as frick) it's gonna be a hot one, I'm afraid. Drink plenty of water--lot of folks pass out if they're not ready for the heat down there. Sun is going to be right in y'all's eyes, too, unfortunately.

No, you're right. Very limited, traditional repertoire. Always start with the first stanza of the Aggie War Hymn and end with the Block T formation. Music in the middle changes, but it's mainly the military-style marching on display.

I see. Well last year for the Bama/Michigan game we practiced at North Texas' stadium, so we won't be completely blindsided by the heat, and of course it gets hot here in Alabama too. We should be fine.

Those formations they made are amazing. All of those optical illusions were phenomenal, I had never seen anything like it. Much better than UT's band, which has been doing that Circle Drill show for over 20 years. Y'all's band is a very different change of pace from the rest of the bands in the SEC, and it's very refreshing.

Yeah, y'all aren't exactly strangers to heat and humidity

The Aggie Band is definitely unique. I think it's really cool that the same tunes and cadences that were around when my dad walked on campus are the same ones I heard and the same ones my little brother gets to experience now. Very neat thread of tradition. You'll see when you get to Kyle Field, but even if Bama is winning by 50, the Aggie Band will still get a rousing ovation when they take the field

Y'all will be well received as well, I promise. Aggies are passionate about our team, but also have a reputation of treating visitors well

LSU's band is my favorite. I still get the creeps whenever I hear that first down cheer. Million Dollar band looks alright in the stands but as far as cheers and halftime goes, they're a bit stale.

The only thing I remember about A&M from your last trip to Athens back in 1980 was your impressive band. Your fb team was crappy back then.
