I like LSU's pregame too. I'm in Alabama's band, so we imitate their dancing girls whenever they're on the field.

Also I like USCe's band. I have some friends in that band so that's a reason why. Michigan's band was ok. They were smaller than I thought they would be.

Any band is better than Alabama's horrible band...

Ok, it's not the band, but the unimaginative halftime shows and such...

I think they've downsized their band a bit since back in the day

UM's pregame is fantastic, too

Isn't there another Bama poster in here also in the Bama band? RTR America or rtr14 or something like that?

Looking forward to seeing y'all perform on Kyle Field

Never touched an instrument in my life besides failing miserably at trying to learn the guitar

Tennessee, running through the T was always one of the coolest traditions to me.

I'm usually smoking, drinking, or taking a piss during the bands.

I was a member of Marching Mizzou for one year. We were pretty average, but as a born and bred Missourian who bleeds everything Missouri, marching and playing the Missouri Waltz in front of 70,000 people sent chills down my spine every time. Truly something I will never forget.

So you're making me eliminate the best one?

Grew up watching the Aggie band in the Rex parade every year in New Orleans, so I've always respected and appreciated them.

Never seen A&Ms band, didn't get to make the trip to CS this year. Heard they were pretty good though.

That's awesome

Sometimes I wish I'd joined the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Grew up listening to their tunes and watching old VHS tapes of their performances. No better moment than when I hear "Recall" start up at the beginning of the War Hymn. Can't imagine what that must feel like for the bandsmen on the field.

Really looking forward to seeing Marching Mizzou in CoMo this year

I have a very similar routine

Especially if it is an earlier game because that means I most likely popped an adderall that morning as a hangover cure.

thanks!

I'm really glad I tried it for a year. It was a great experience, but ultimately I chose to do other things. I still miss doing pre-game though...Missouri Waltz, Tiger Rag, and Star Spangled Banner were my favorites.

That being said, it's really a shame that more people don't show the band some love. As someone who's done it, people have no idea the time, effort, and heart that most of those kids in the band put in. Double digit hours EVERY week in rain or shine, sweltering heat or sleeting cold, the band is out there putting together a show for the audience. It really pisses me off to see people totally ignoring the halftime shows and hardly hearing any applause when the band finishes playing. The lack of appreciation is one of the reasons I ended up quitting. It's too bad, but it is what it is. I'm off my soapbox now

Nah, I'm the same way. I love football, but if I'm in the stands, I'm there for the experience. Loved the fact that Aggies at Kyle Field always show the FTAB plenty of love when they take the field, and wish others were the same way.

As a student, though, it was always a relief to see the other team's band take the field because that's the only time when it was acceptable for the 12th Man to sit down during the game

Good to hear some schools are better than others about supporting the band. Unfortunately Mizzou is pretty poor at it.

this reminds me of the Border War against kU at Arrowhead Stadium when I was in Marching Mizzou. kU was the "home team" that year so their band got to perform at halftime. Unfortunately for them, the crowd was an (estimated) 45,000 Mizzou to 5,000 kU split, so kU's marching band was booed mercilessly throughout the entire halftime.

After that we rubbed it in a little further SEC

My fraternity house was slightly down the street from where our band practices and I got to see first hand how many hours they put into it. I have serious respect for how they were out there every day dealing with the miserable humid Tuscaloosa weather.

I would like to sit and watch them perform during halftime, but it is literally the only time I want to leave my seat during the game. I am one of those people who will stay to the very end of every game even if it is a blowout. Gotta milk these very good $20 tickets for everything I can while I'm here

As much as it pains me to say it, texas has a pretty decent band. And I respect them a lot for what they did to honor the fallen Aggie students during the Bonfire game. Still brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Amazing Grace

My first ever game marching for Mizzou was a day game vs Miami (OH) with a temperature of 96* but news outlets measured the in stadium temperature at roughly 110 degrees. Halfway through the first quarter I had already drenched my uniform all the way through. When I finally changed after the game, I literally poured several liquid ounces of sweat out of my shoes. Horrible, horrible experience
