As a Vandy fan, I would like to say, two down and eleven to go.

Kentucky won't win unless they spring another WR as a QB for the game

The current state of Tennessee:

Dooley's successor will become the Vols' fourth coach in a six-year stretch.

The Vols haven't earned more than seven victories in any of their last five seasons. This will mark their fifth losing season over the last eight years.

Tennessee faces some financial issues as it chooses its new coach. The university's athletic department posted a $3.98 million budget deficit for the 2011-12 fiscal year in part because of buyouts it was paying to Fulmer, former athletic director Mike Hamilton, former men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl and former baseball coach Todd Raleigh.

The football program is on probation until August 2015.

Don't forget the pending lawsuits from Pat Summitt , now Dooley, plus Dooley's buyout.

the right hire and winning will cure it all. Bama was in even worse shape in 2006. UT has a decent roster right now. a good coach should be able to turn the program around right away

There is still more than enough money for UT to go out and make a coach the highest paid coach in the SEC.

Auburn said money was no object before they hired Gene Chizik.

This will go down as one of many huge mistakes UT has muffed. The man was/is a class act and was turning things around.

You know what else turns things around...?

The money that will pay for Dooley's buyout/ a high paid coach will come from outside of the AD.

At least your school has balls. I want to make a thread about our school firing the AD and HC of football.

Good for Tennessee, no sense for that program to be where they are.

It would not surprise me one bit if Auburn or Tennessee hired him. Of course he has issues but he's a really good coach.

I dont think TN will go after Petrino.... But if they did get him I would be scare. They would be a powerhouse in 2 years.
