Nobody is "cool" by throwing up a gang sign. Especially someone who is a role model for so many kids.
Dude, he's not stacking. People automatically assume that any gesture made by an African American kid is a gang sign.

As for the white comment. Yes. He would still be a thug.
Suuuure.

Also, in my encounters, one who plays the race card is usually racist themselves.
Doubtful, since I've went out with quite a few black guys.

That is why I used the word USUALLY. I'm not saying you're racist. And yes it is a gang sign I don't care what you say. He is clearly using a blood sign. Now wether he is in the bloods no one will know but it is clearly a gang sign.

Hey David Duke, what's up? RAped a woman? Is that what black guys do brah? What's the correlation between discussing the alleged attitude and a vile and vulgar action like rape?
I noticed on here that you are pretty open with your racist tone. That's cool and all, it's a free country. However, it's also pathetic to speak of any woman or man that you do not have any knowledge of on any level other than television.
Go away.
All the racist THUG talk makes me sick. Do nay of you know what a thug is? or do you sit there in all your superior "whiteness" and relegate a particular skin tone to it?
The Duke fan is 100% correct. ALL OF YA'LL would laud the accomplishments of any of the player on our team if they played for one of yours.
For the idiot perpetuating another racist myth/comment on John Wall, he puts the "3" sign up when he hits a three. Pretty close to the blood sign. I'm sure that's another good ole boy racist stereotype...
Chase let's save it for the Puke v. UK game if ya'll make it there.
taking the easy road out and calling someone racist. how fricking typical is that?

FWIW Kentucky fans...you don't have to be black to be a thug. Pretty weak for you guys to pull out the racist card.
That fricker out of Georgia was probably the biggest thug to play basketball in quite some time, and he was white. (Dave Bliss?)
And yes, Cousins is a thug.

It's possible that he may have fit this label earlier and is making steps to shred it. I'm not going to label the kid the rest of his life for things he did in high school. He seems to be maturing and this is from an outsider looking in. If from here on out the most we can say is that he plays aggresive at times then the thug label will no longer be warranted.

you're all racist for calling him a thug. That's the only reason that you have this opinion of him.

You don't strike me as being very smart.

I'm pretty sure cousins thinks he's tough. There's your connection. Anything else?
Posted on 3/26/10 at 11:17 am to MRazorback
Who cares if he's "thuggin" or not. That is just a stereo type put on players with attitude and tattoos anyway. I personally would rather have guys who are tough and demand respect on the the court rather than what LSU had this year with a bunch of guys who play scared in the post. Having that image is also intimidating to opposing players and that is an advantage.
Posted on 3/26/10 at 11:34 am to EZTIGER
The point of why i posed this question is that im sure he cares if he has an image of being a thug. I've always heard about Cousins antics in the past, but I haven't seen him do anything to be labeled a thug. That is just my perspective. The tats mean nothing and I never mentioned them. I will be the first to admit that being an african-american myself I feel some people throw the word thug out carelessly when describing black athelets. I've heard people such as T.O and Chad Johnson called thugs before when they both are primadonnas and hardly thugs. I agree with you that a post player like Cousins would greatly help your team and definitely my hogs.
Posted on 3/26/10 at 11:41 am to MRazorback
Bottom line is everyone of you would have loved to have had him on your team this year and you're lying your arse off if you say otherwise. I know I would. If he was on your team you would be like UK fans and defend him also.

Dang dude. Just because a black dude throws up the 'blood' sign don't mean it's a gang sign, or he's throwing it up in a 'gang' way.
Black fraternities show their frat sometimes by throwing up a hand gesture. Matter of fact, one of the most popular black frat has a sign that is exactly like the 'blood' sign.

Dont know too many thugs/gang members that look like Carlton from Fresh Prince

I agree. It seems like if a black athlete has tats and is anything less than a choir boy, he's automatically labeled a thug.
To me, a thug is someone out committing crimes, robbing, stealing and killing people. Cousins doesn't fit that label to me. Early in the year, he came off as immature and having a bad attitude, not a thug though.
Having said that, it seems like he has grown up a little from the beginning of the year.
