If Mcelwain is smart he'll put the backup in on 9/24. Back-up QBs are our weakness

He's improved. Reports were that yesterday was his best practice yet. He's usually good for a couple of wild throws per practice but all in all I think the consensus is that he's improving and will redshirt this year.

Apparently lowly rated 3 star Kyle Trask is the 3rd string guy behind Appleby and Del Rio and he looks better than Franks. We'll see in a couple of years though. Hopefully if Del rio is good he can be a three year starter for us

He may not be as talented as Grier but he could still do good in coach Macs offense. Seems like his QBs have normally done good other then Treon Harris. His QBs at Bama did good with out having a lot of talent. I don't get so many people insulting Del Rio when they have to play him this year. Your post will look real funny if Del Rio leads the Gators to a win in Arkansas .

What ifs ? Who are the QBs that struggled under coach Mac besides T.Harris? The rumors about Del Rio are wildly different. some say he is not very good and he was a walk on at Bama. Our OC has to think that Del Rio could be good to have been his coach in the past and recruit him to come play for him again. Then there is the rumors that Del Rio would have been the starter last year if he was eligible . I think we could all agree that he is better then Harris. I think he will have stats as good or better then Grier this year .

Franks is just super raw. Has a very strong arm and can launch it; but very rough around the edges.
