Our attendance for baseball used to be better. Not top 10 level but better than it is now. It really waned the past few years with our program really hitting an all time low. I'm disappointed it hasn't significantly improved this year because the team has.
Missouri is a baseball crazy state so it's kind of surprising the team doesn't get better support. Hopefully it gets better the next few years because the team should be competitive for awhile.

Bama should be ranked higher due to number of overall wins - which is tops in the SEC, and 15th overall nationally.

Didn't realize USC has more CWS apps than State and Florida. Impressive.
SEC has EIGHTY-SEVEN CWS apps!

I see what you're saying, but I think that he's only counting stuff since the SEC has existed (the 1933 season and onward).

Perhaps, but even still - Bama trails only LSU in regular season SEC Championships and SEC tournament championships. That should be enough to rank them higher than 8th, IMO.
#1 in overall wins
#2 in regular season SEC Titles
#2 in SEC tournament titles
ETA: He can't be counting only SEC existence years, because 6 of MSU's conference championships that he listed came prior to the SEC era.

The OP likes to subtlety troll. That includes his own fanbase.

Bench is at the level of "true bama fan" that most Bama fans should aspire to reach.

He enjoys trolling his own fanbase more than he does anyone else.
Still, this could have been a quality thread with some minor obvious adjustments.

Wow I'm shocked more fans don't support the team. Wow. Good history. Yah I know I know, Royals and Cardinals.
That's not the problem. Or at least not the biggest problem. Baseball games aren't going to get a ton of support as far as seats in the stands when it comes to KC or STL. There are a small handful of diehard locals that attend a lot of games, but otherwise the University has historically done a piss poor job of promoting baseball. There is no reason why between students and the local community, who aren't going to Cards/Royals games anyways, can't put 3,000 seats in the stand regularly.

I thought it was decent; better than usual...

SEC baseball's history is pretty tough to measure. Bama, M State, and UF (and even Auburn and Ole Miss to some degree) have traditionally been pretty good...but it is the programs that have sucked, such as Vandy and Georgia, that have the national title trophies. On one hand, national titles are so rare that winning just one should negate decades of mediocrity--but still.

1. LSU- 6 national championships, 16 CWS appearances, 27 NCAA tournament appearances, 15 conference championships
I'll pay LSU baseball the highest compliment imaginable. They are the college baseball equivalent of Alabama football.
No ... that would be So Cal or Texas. But LSU is ungodly when they get in the championship game.
LSU has been to the championship game six times and won all six.
quote:
2. South Carolina- 2 national championships, 11 CWS appearances, 30 NCAA tournament appearances, 3 conference championships
For a long time, South Carolina sucked at pretty much every sport imaginable. Baseball was the one exception. They were a very good program but could never get over the hump. Finally, the Cocks broke through in 2010 by winning a championship then they won another the next year and made it to a third consecutive CWS final in 2012. With that run, they have firmly established themselves as the second best baseball program in the SEC.
South Carolina was a powerhouse in basketball for years but the ACC fricked them outta a couple of trips to the NCAA (long story) which is why SCAR is no longer in the ACC ... we told them to shove it up their arse.
With regard to baseball ....
You forgot that SCAR has the second best winning percentage in Omaha in CWS history.
You forgot that SCAR owns the post season consecutive wins record as well as the CWS consecutive wins record.
Additionally, SCAR is also a Top Ten all-time wins program in Omaha, and has also been to the championship game six times .... just like LSU. But SCAR has only won two of those championships ... some might say it was because of the luck of the draw. I dunno ... when you look at SCAR's six championship game opponents and look at where those opponents rank in terms of all time in the CWS there is a case to be made I suppose.
LSU is still the king in the SEC ... but you undersold SCAR imho, even placing them at 2nd they are one of the top ten all time programs in college baseball history.

All non state lottery teams are at a definite disadvantage. IE Auburn,Alabama, and the Mississippi schools.

Decent assessment historically. SEC didn't have a NC until UGA in 90 I believe. Agree you have to give the newbies credit for their past. I actually would rank Bama a bit higher myself and Mizzou lower.
