So cheating is justified as long as it puts you in position to beat Bama? There is nothing wrong with wanting to compete with the elites of college football but how can you take any pride whatsoever in the program when you have to cheat to do it? This is a sad and pathetic mentality to possess regardless of team affiliation. I mean those 2 wins over Saban were really worth the disgrace that is raining down on your institution?

I'm not naive enough to think that the Bama's of the world aren't also cheating. I understand that we are the ones who got caught and we'll be punished for doing it, but please don't act like cheating isn't going on everywhere. Our cheating didn't start with Freeze, it just went up a notch. Bama quit being Bama when they got put on probation and couldn't cheat bc they had to worry about the death penalty if they got caught again. When Saban got there, that wasn't going to continue to be the case. Saban knows what to do and how to do it and not get caught. This is just part of college athletics. But yes, I think every school, including us, had to step up the level of cheating in order to compete with Bama. Trust me, I wish every school was on a level playing field and there was no cheating at all or extra benefits given, but that's just not the case.

As a lifelong Ole Miss fan, I've dealt with our team being absolutely terrible a lot more than them being relevant. I think you are going to be disappointed if you think making us continue to fight out last place in the West with Arkansas and State is going to destroy Ole Miss. Grove will still be the best tailgate in America. the Mannings will always be the first family of football, and we'll still have the most beautiful coeds. So essentially things just go back to what they were before Freeze got hired. Just means that instead of an SEC team actually being able to beat Bama, they'll go undefeated until Saban retires. Auburn might have a shot the next few years, but LSU won't with Coach O and nobody else has a prayer.

horseshite and bullshite. Everyone owns Ole Miss.

Yep, I want the Black Bears to be rewarded for cheating their asses off by getting away with it. Sure. OK. Right.

Nope, I want to see them give Ole Miss the death penalty so the SEC can kick them out and add a school from a new footprint so we can all get more of that sweet, sweet SECN cash. Cincy would be an excellent upgrade.

Some of you say you cheated to compete for a title and some of you say you cheated so you could beat Saban and some of you say you had to cheat because every program cheats and you are just unlucky enough to get caught. I had no interest in seeing the ncaa destroy your program but you guys are making a good case for me to change my mind.

Also you guys should know that Ole Miss as a university can't do anything to the ncaa but submit to their will. Individuals can sue them and win monetary gains if they win. It has happened in the past and will happen in the future. They have money to lose though so they won't be hurt by it. Just a fyi.

First off, you can't compete for a title without beating Saban, so it's the same thing. And I don't think I said anything about Ole Miss doing anything to the NCAA. However, if RR was to win a case against Leo Lewis, this definitely would hurt the credibility of the NCAA and would kill any chance they have of trying to use the immunity card to get opposing team's players to talk about an opposing school. No matter what happens to us, that needs to be ended immediately.

It's already been used against us so it won't have any impact on our sanctions, but the NCAA is running a huge risk using this. I don't like Leo Lewis, but I also think it sucks that now he is having to deal with harassment from fans, lawsuits against him and his mother, and who knows what else. If he lied, it is on him and he deserves some of it. But if he told the truth, he's going through this so the NCAA could use it to justify 5 years of an investigation and the money spent doing so. If they had found more evidence on Barney or the staff from the Tunsil stuff, they probably would not have used the immunity tactic. That's just my guess, but I think they wanted/needed more proof and that was the way for them to do it. As petty as all the stuff is getting with Ole Miss and State, can you imagine what it would be like if a Bama player was given immunity to talk about Auburn, or Tennessee and Florida, Ohio State and Michigan. This lawsuit shows how ugly it can get.

Yes, and he was afraid to set foot in the state of Alabama for fear of legal action and illegal action. Hence, my point.
