I had no idea this would evoke so much emotion and outright spite. I still don't see how you guys can find these broadcasts enjoyable, much less listenable... but to each is own, I guess.

Like I advised you earlier, if you find Jack that annoying, then dont listen to the game at all, get live stats on ESPN.com or follow the game cast. Or worst case go to Buffalo Wild Wings and watch the game on TV.

Jack is like an older family member (uncle/Grandfather) you may not always like what he has to say or agree with him, but you have learned to love him and enjoy being around him (Listening to his broadcasts) every chance you get.

You got it. Jack makes mistakes, and we know it, but we still love him. The guy is the only person in the Hump who is allowed to smoke inside. The man is a legend in Starkville and among the Mississippi State fan base.

but could you imagine harry carry trying to call a basketball game?... that's actually a pretty good comparison. That would be equally as awful as listening to MSU basketball.

I've never listened to him but I've heard UGA, UT, UF, LSU and Bammer football announcers while traveling to and from Auburn games and this guy has to be pretty bad to be worse than Eli or the douche Florida has announcing their games. Eli never tells the score or the down and distance. And something that trully amazes me about Eli is that Bama can stuff a run 2 straight time and then somehow allow a 10 yard qb sneak for a 1st down.

hell im a state fan and think it is about time for jack cristil to hang up the mic and ride off into the sunset....while he is what i have always heard and cherish the calls yet he is still good for a smartass coment or two during games....BUT his accuracy sucks and his broadcasts are really suffering these days...so I dont fault the OP for stating his opinion on this issue...

Jack has gotten meaner over the years. He lives in Tupelo, where my family lives. Jack can't help himself from cussing all the time. He got banned from the Hardee's for dropping GD's and F bombs in a voice audible to anyone in the restaurant. Hardees is where all the ole timers like my dad and Jack go to sit around and drink coffee and talk sports and politics.
