LSU's defensive backs are good.

True

LSU's offensive line is not.

Looks like there was only a handful of sacks in the entire scrimmage. Not sure if there were any when it was 1v1

It's scrimmage and LSU's defense is pretty damn good.

Yeah, they're gonna tell you it's because their defense kicks arse, but in the same scrimmage their running back averaged over 10 yards per carry.

Haha

LSU sucks

So Matt Canada is learning the lesson that Cam Cameron learned. Dont go to LSU if you have any hope of getting another coaching job

That running back is a heisman candidate and is likely the best in the country.

ETA: and his first run was 60 yards

Auburn has 3 better QBs. That says something.

I know he's good. That wasn't my point. My point is that in order for your back to average ten per carry, the offensive line has to play very well. Which means that your shitty quarterback is just shitty. Like hammered out dog shite bad.

Doesn't mean he wasn't affected by pressure. Even the best DBs aren't capable of forcing numbers like that. Here is what the scrimmage updates included:

Etling was under pressure all day

True, but pressure can make him rush his throws and keep him out of rhythm. I don't know what happened, just saying dlines can affect the qb even if they don't get sacks. He did have more incomplete passes than completions which means he could have been throwing the ball away to avoid sacks.

Why is this a surprise? Etling is a game manager at best, nothing more.

It's possible to be a game manager and not suck. Greg McElroy is a perfect example of this.
