6/14 and barely over 100 yds passing. He's the exact same QB as Harris.

He should've been 10-14 for over 150 if the WR and TE just catch the ball. He really only made 3 bad throws.

I think that you may have responded to the wrong person. I've never compared Etling to Mauck. Etling is what we have, and albeit he is not All-SEC, he looks better than Harris has this season.

Who? Since Harris was a top 3 quarterback and this guy is better, count me as officially worried about LSU. You don't have to rub it in bro....some of us have to rely on freshman quarterbacks.

eally? REALLY? This time 2 years ago, we were about to beat your arse and everyone was begging for Harris to get the start. A week from now, posts were being made with his passer rating of 200 or some shite and how he was the future of LSU football.

Now all of a sudden, he has always been terrible? Say what you will, but I have to hand it to you guys, nobody does short memory and turning on their own quite like LSU.

Harris came in that game and threw against back ups in soft coverage. As soon as LSU got close Mullen put the starters back in and shut it down.

Now, we were fed a huge shite sandwich all Spring until the Spring game. I realized then that Harris still couldn't throw a 5yd pass or a screen. Then the story came out from the Manning Passing Academy that he had trouble just hitting stationary targets. None of this shite is really a big surprise with him.

Does everyone get to do this or just LSU?

Fitz had 3 TD's, 360 total yards, and a 66% completion rate last week. We had at least 5 dropped passes, 2 for walk in TD's. Do I get to say he should have completed 85% of his passes, totaled 500 yards, and scored 5 or 6 TD's?

So, stack the box to shut down LF7 and force Etling to pass. Intercept Etling. Rinse, lather, repeat.

So two years later you are finally agreeing with what we told you? LSU fans argued into the ground that this wasn't the case, that you had the better team and should have won that game.

Wasn't comparing Etling to Fitz. I also didn't put stats in my OP. All I said was I have hope again because, in one game at least, our QB didn't freak out when pressure came, and was able to throw to the check-downs. This is unlike how it has been in awhile.

Most of us definitely know we didn't deserve to win that game (bah you made me think of Welter again). But we did have a shot at the end. Me personally, I disagree with "letting your foot off the gas" when you get a lead, unless it is 2 mins left and you are up by 4 scores. Too many times being "sportsman-like" costs you a game.

Not saying I like it, but it has worked for him. He's something stupid like 58-3 when leading at half, only a few times has it bit him in the arse.

And obviously getting SEC reps to younger guys and backups is more critical for us than some teams, we simply don't have the raw talent that LSU, Bama, etc do.

If Etsiah plays just well enough for Les to keep his job (say, 9-3), but not good enough to win even the West; will Rantards still think he's a hero? Or will they blame his improved play for them being stuck with Miles?

Quite the conundrum for the Rantards...

We arnt in any way saying that Etling is good. Most of the LSU fans are just excited that he had the ability to run through his progressions and then hit is check down back. We understand that he will probably shite the bed later, but for the moment LSU fans can at least pretend like he is the missing piece.

He wont be blamed at all. Would be nothing short of a miracle if we win 9 games.

Really went into the wrong field. Pretty sure I could manage a team to 9 wins at LSU.

He steps up into the pocket. I haven't seen an LSU QB do that in a while.

Plus throw to a Tight End.
Plus throw a decent screen pass.
Plus he wouldn't overthrow Yao Ming.

Yep, 6 completions on 14 attempts and ZERO in the 2nd half. Really ate up Jacksonville St.***
