McElwain will have to rely on his offense to carry the team this year.

They are officially out of the stock of defensive talent Muschamp left for ButterTeeth.

The SEC is much stronger when Florida is capable of utilizing the resources at their disposal. I don't like Mac as a head coach and he is a douche on top of it.

I hope you are correct, but the guys behind there starters are just as good, if not better.

Offense hasn't looked good since Jim Bob got there.

Does this mean that if he wins the east again this year people will not be saying it's because of Muscahmps defense ? Muschamp had the same players and couldn't win the east .

It means nothing. Mizzou has won the East twice.

The east champ has become the competitive equivalent to a game of musical chairs.

In fairness, their offense hasn't looked good since Urban left.

The offense sucked half the time Meyer was here as well. He is the only one who could frick up all the talent he had. Well there are a few others who can recruit but not coach.

We've consistently had a top D since Charlie Pell, but I'm sure you're right and our D will be terrible.

McElwain was able to set an all-time record for the Outback Bowl with what was basically his defense outside of the cornerbacks (however, his DB got the game ball and nearly two pick sixes).

D-Line was missing Bryan Cox Jr., Joey Ivey and Jordan Sherit all sat out against LSU. (That's 3 starting defensive linemen).

Secondary was missing both starting safeties for the game.

Linebackers were missing three starters for the game.

So, minus 8 players for that game and to set a record seems like a pretty positive step in the right direction.

Of course, Muschamp also permitted an FCS team to rack up 200 yards of rushing offense without completing a pass and he's a defensive expert, while McElwain with the same build on defense managed to set a school record for least yards allowed (ever) by the defense.

I think we'll be just fine, some growing pains, sure, but with the last recruiting class and how the freshmen have stepped up and cracked some skulls (hi LSU), no problems in Gainesville.

They'll be returning majority of the players that LSU couldn't score against.

Your underestimating the talent on UF's defense, even with the losses.

3 starting defensive linemen, both safeties, both starting linebackers were out against LSU.

Vosean Joseph, Freshman.

Not one single fricking inch, even on two tries.

Urban's worst offensive year was better than all but one year of the combined Boom-Mac experiment
