The one thing Mullen has done really well is make sure they consistently win their OOC games against schools like Tulane and South Alabama.

Can't do shite in the SEC though,

MSU is a different program since 2014.

You had a losing season LAST YEAR. How is that different?

Mullen has built a steady program,

How does a "steady program" in the 8th year of the coach's tenure go 5-7 in the regular season with losses to South Alabama, BYU and Kentucky? LSU, in the throes of our decline, has players who weren't even born the last time we had a season like that.

Do I need to explain the difference in LSU and State?

It's the only losing season he's had since 2010. Do I need to write out State records pre-Mullen to show why averaging 7-5 there without any meltdown seasons is an accomplishment?

Three of those losses were on the last play of the game so the 5-7 record could have easily been 8-4.
In looking at the State from a contextual standpoint, he has done a great job over 9 years now.
We are not a program that is going win 9-10 games every year. Our fan base understands that. What he has done has been to develop a consistent winner that is generally very competitive week in and week out. If things go our way we can 9-10-11 games here and there with an occasional 5-7 record in the mix . Now, he is to the point where slowly year by year our recruiting is getting a little better and the on field results are evidence of that.
Now will we win tomorrow night. I do not know but I think we have the expectation of winning this game whereas several years ago we only hoped to beat LSU. Now we expect it.
That is the difference between 2009 and 2017.

This thread only amplifies my earlier post. Every one of you LSU ranters are scared as hell of MSU.

You premonition is correct... ya'll are going to get your swamp kitty asses beat by the DAWGS in StarkVegas.

I'm actually happy that State is doing pretty good. Like I've said in other threads, if this were any other weekend, I'd be pulling for state.

MSU had its worst season since 2008 last year but still didn't fire the 2nd winningest coach in the SEC in the last two decades and replace him with a gorilla after failing to hire 5 other dudes first. Our 6-7 season hurt our program much less than your 2016 hurt yours.

I'm a few days late, but I'm here to eat my crow.

State looks sharp this year and LSU just ain't that good. There's always next year, I suppose.
