Matthews could be a really high pick, vs coming back and getting hurt.
Gonna be a hard choice for the guy.
I think one of the main differences is Matthews wouldn't be quite as high as Moore or Joeckel. Those two can't really go much higher whereas Matthews could still improve his draft stock. Plus there's all of his unique personal issues that've been mentioned. If we do lose all three I might start getting a bit worried about next year.

Sorry for your loss but that is what makes the SEC so great. Go to SEC, great chance to be a high draft pick in NFL. AtM is going to be strong going forward regardless.

Coming back per aTm posters here.
That's false. Before he was projected top 10, we said it was slightly more likely that he returned. After he shot up the draft chart, we consented that he would probably go. Luke has shot so high, that he will go, too. Jake will return.

Bama loses players early every year, at least since Saban came. So does LSU. Just have to recruit well and reload.

This kid will step up and be a player for us at DE next year.
#41 Brandon Alexander
Position: Defensive Line
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 245
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Brenham, Texas
High School: Brenham
Experience: 1 Letter
Has been lazy early in his career but coaches are saying he is stepping up big time in the weight room this season...seeing Moore going top 10 should motivate him big time.

I hope so. I'd like to see him play LT for a year before going to the NFL.
Matthews to LT
Ogbuehi (current RG) to RT
Next year's line would look like this:
LT: Matthews (SR), Stuckey (SO)
LG: Harrison (RSJR), Klinke (SR)
C: Matthews (SO), Compton (JR)
RG: Ifedi (RSFR), Wilson (FR)
RT: Ogbuehi (RSJR), Cheek (RSSO)

When is the next Matthews finishing high school? '14?

I think Cheek may beat out Ifedi (or Compton) and leave Ogbuehi inside. And Gutekunst was mentioned as a possible starter at OT (don't know much about him really but that comes from someone that knows OL). Also Tipoti will almost certainly find a spot in the 2-deep. Stuckey was brought in to fill out the depth chart when Jake leaves really. He needs and wants to redshirt next year if possible. And I can almost guarantee Ishmael will shirt.
Btw, it's obviously a solid line when a SR like Klinke that has 10 or so starts under his belt isn't even being talked about. Yeah he's been hurt but in talking to people around the program, no one expects him to compete with the younger guys. Sherm left us with just a ton of talent here.

I played against Cheek's dad in hs and if his son is as good as he was we'll be ok at whatever spot he fills
