This just makes me so damn sad. EB is a good human being as is his family. He chose to wear Inky Johnson's number in the pros and salutes him every game. This just hurts so fricking bad. It really, really does.

Well that's fricking awful.

Just saw a rerun of the Say Yes to the Dress episode where he bought his Mom a wedding dress so she could renew her vows and have the wedding she never had when she first got married. Ugh.

Crazy how lymphoma attacks relatively healthy people. I've seen a bunch of very active and fit people end up with it.

Off the top of my head Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) both got it and were in decent shape and seem to take care of themselves.

Several unknown people I've read about too.

Hoping for the best for Eric.

Just fricking sickening news. Eric Berry has been one of our program's few sources of pride the past 8 years. Aside from being one of the best pure safeties I've ever seen play SEC football and an absolute head hunter, he is a class act and a genuinely great human being. Godspeed Eric.

forgive my ignorance, how serious is this/what is it?

Hodgkin's has a 90-95% cure rate, but of course is the rare version. It would be the best outcome, but that doesn't make the chemo any better, unfortunately. Here's hoping Mr. Berry get's to wear a violet bracelet instead of lime green.

Thoughts are with Eric and his family.

Love watching him play, and I always lol when I think of the NFL film about his fear of horses.

I was fortunate enough to beat melanoma - caught at exactly the right time as it was starting to spread and any longer and I'd have been dead at 21 despite not having the usual risk factors. Owe my life to my mom who spotted it and forced me to go get it checked.

I PRAY Eric does the same. He deserves all the good fortune in the world. Cancer is simply awful and too many near me have died from it recently.

Kick it's arse Eric!

Good luck to Mr. Berry, pull through! I had diffuse large B cell lymphoma when I was 16 and beat it. If I can do it, then surely Eric Berry can.
