That is true, he sat out an entire season and 7 games of the next.

Didn't you frickers just get rid of a kid who failed his 3rd drug test?

I would hope so. Kids will be stupid, and when they do, they get punished.

What you fail to see is that you ACCEPTED a kid that did something way worse than what we kicked a kid off the team for. That was an incredible backfire.

While it is terrible what MSU did these two are not the same thing at all. One was blatant cheating and disregard for the NCAA rules and the others was letting a POS into our football program.

No. You kicked a kid off who was violating team rules. We are accepting a kid who wasn't on the team, and was still in highschool, at the time of offense. An offense that has been objectively handled by the judicial system and resulted in misdomeanor simple assault.

When did people start caring about State?

I missed that memo.

MSU didn't not self impose 1.5 years (they did 1 year and NCAA upped it) and it was over $1,000.00. So like I said get your facts straight before calling someone else out.

The Georgia Way. He'll wind up at one of the other SEC schools that accept shite like that.

You have to admit the optics on this look terrible for MSU. They would've been much better off simply letting him in with some generic "assess the situation, nothing has been decided, everything is on the table" language.

We are one of only like 2 schools in the SEC with concrete punishments for multiple failed drug tests. I thought the other was UK but it may be UGA.

And apparently OM has multiple offenders on their team. I thought only Stringfellow had been charged with domestic violence but apparently they have an incoming freshman rapist as well.

Andy Staples conveniently didn't pick up on that one I guess.

Oh I agree. I'm glad our AD had the stones to meet with the media and take the fire, but I really wish they had just left the suspension indefinite.

UGA has the toughest drug policy in the SEC. And we test more. 2-3 years ago we held a random drug test the day the kids reported back from spring break. That still pi$$es me off....fine line between setting a high standard and trying your best to eff kids. I think we crossed it many times.

Wasn't it Honey Badger that failed 17 drug tests at LSU and never missed a game? Shite doesn't happen like that in Athens.

I hate these kinds of threads. People pointing fingers back and forth and comparing whose crimes are worse.

However, I am curious...how is kicking a kid off the team after a failed drug test shady? Seems like the right thing to do.

Maybe we need to find two felons, get more on Georgia's level.
