His short passes need work all his deep throws where good.
So basically like he was at LSU.
I think he can have a lot of success in Tennessee under Whisenhunt, but he's got some growing to do.

Like I said, I didn't see much of the game. I'm not a Titans fan either. I saw basically his last drive. All of the throws seemed to lack velocity. The defenders met or beat receivers to a few throws on that drive alone. That's a really small sample, I know. Just my 2 cents. No need to hate me.

He reminds me a little of Ryan Mallett with more athleticism. I think he starts for the Titans eventually. Thought he'd go much higher than he did.
One thing that has always bugged me about him though is it seems like every time he played us he had ball security issues in the pocket. He got stripped of the ball tonight too. Does that happen often or do I just happen to watch him when it does?

There are going to be a dozen or so teams who will regret passing him up in rounds 2-5 once Mett has a few seasons under his belt. I guess that the knee problems are to blame and he has a reputation for lacking mobility. I, on the other hand, say that he did pretty good with bum knees last year. He really did well with those little side steps and step ups into the pocket at the right times.
Now that his knees should be improved, his mobility should be able to improve over the next season or two. Pocket footwork can be really subtle and has to be in sync with the O linemen or the sacks will add up quick. The sacks he took last year were from pockets collapsing and bad side step choices which happen when a QB really can't trust his knees to scramble out of the pocket so he ends up confined in a pocket.
As for zip on passes, if Mett is putting too much touch on balls that he needs to zip then he will improve. IMO, his arm might have been the strongest in last year's draft (maybe).

I am over Jake Locker. I was happy the Titans signed Whitehurst in the offseason and very happy they drafted Mett. The only thing that concerns me with Mett is his lack of mobility. But I could even deal with that as long as he isn't a turnover machine like Ryan Fitzpatrick was. God damn that fricking guy.

I'm apparently one of the few people still remaining in the Locker camp. It just comes down to health with him imo. The Titan's have a great coach to take him to the next level.

Did you see his first preseason game for Houston? I really hope he is their starter this season.

I'm with you on Locker RTR...
He was having by far his best season last year and looked to be really improved. His passer rating was 86.7... Right behind Luck who had an 87.0. Locker just needs to stay healthy. But that's easier said than done for him. And the Titans actually look like they have some weapons for him to utilize with Hunter improving, Wright is in his 3rd year, signing McCluster, drafting Sankey, etc.
And I do like Ken Whis as well... But Locker isn't his type of QB. Mett is. He likes the big, tall, QBs with the big arms (Big Ben, Rivers were his guys) that can make those deep throw in his vertical passing attack offense.
But I do think Locker is a starting nfl QB. Never gonna be a 1 of the best in the league. But I think he can be a very solid nfl starting QB.

Which is why I loved the pick. With the way the new CBA is set up in the NFL you might as well draft a QB every damn year until you find the right one that translates.
I love the young offensive talent we have on this team like Mett, Hunter, Wright, Sankey, Warmack, and Lewan.

He made a great throw over the middle to Hunter for a 64 yard TD

Very similar. Both throw a pretty long ball and both prefer sexual assault over the casual dating scene......

Locker sucks? Looked pretty good to me but I don't see him staying healthy.

Clipboard for a couple years, then out of the league.

Not sure, but this made me warm on the inside...
@glennonsports
Former LSU star Zach Mettenberger on his interception: "It went right to Vinnie Sunseri of all people -- freakin’ Alabama." #Titans

Locker looked okay. Mett will
hold a clipboard may start a few games. Will have to see how he does in regular season play.
Didn't white hurst get hurt last night?

I think he has a chance to stick for a while... But he did make some throws last night that were bad decisions... still, you can't deny his arm strength and size.
And as others have said, count me in the group that's over jake locker .... Even when healthy his accuracy stinks.
