Telling players that he loves them personally is a little creepy. Apparently he builds personal relationships with players and that's his method of building a team. It would make me uncomfortable. How does that work when he has to discipline a player or when a player doesn't love him back?

I get that he's a Christian coach and he uses his religion heavily in his recruiting pitch. It seems to be an institutional mandate from Freeze. I've heard he holds Church Services for his players at the Athletic Complex on Sundays. What if a player doesn't want to attend his church services? {{{CREEPY}}}

What about any of that is creepy? A lot of these kids probably come from backgrounds that don't include a positive male role model. Having a grown man show you guidance and love as a young adult is life changing and a positive thing.

Not all of them. Many have strong families with their own religious beliefs and traditions. Mandating a particular religious experience as a member of a football team is creepy. Freeze comes on too strong with it.

And those players know that when they commit to play for him. It's a part of who he is and a part of his identity as a coach. They have a choice of whether or not they want to be a part of a program that is run like that. Apparently, there's no shortage of talent that wants to play for the "creepy" guy.

Yes. It is the Bible School. Freeze force feeds strict religious doctrine into his football program. I am a Christian but I don't think religion should be a daily part of college football unless the college is a private religious institution with a specific religious curriculum for all students and faculty.

A coach who makes his football program a Christian program in a secular state funded institution is crossing some creepy unlawful lines. It borders on discrimination. It is discrimination if a player doesn't want to participate in the religious regimen and feels his success or failure is determined to any degree by any degree of participation in the coaches religious activities.

Religion is a personal issue. Tolerance is essential but not obedience, participation, or acceptance to participate in a state funded college football program. Is Freeze recruiting any Catholics? Hindus? Sikhs? Buddists? Or is Ole Miss College Football a cult of the ultra orthodox Holiness Chapter of the Christian Church of Christ/God snake handlers and tongue talkers? I'm hearing that's exactly what it is. Ole Miss administration has "No comment" when challenged. LINK Obvious lawsuit coming from the ACLU and they'll win.

At Freeze's church the collection plate is passed around for the worshipers, not the other way around. Just sayin'.

It's not cool trying to troll using religion.

I guess Jesus loves certain football players but hates the homeless.
