Leaving his own school to a coach at one of their main rivals for basically the same job is all that he needed to do to be heard. He has issues with Gus. Doesn't make him right though...it also doesn't make him wrong. Time will tell.

In the response to what, I'm assuming, is something along the lines of "So why did you take a lateral move"?

B..b..but Phillip Marshall assured me this morning that his decision had little to do with not getting along with Gus. Who's lying here?

Wait, so you're telling me that a newly hired coach is saying nice things about his new organization?
No. We are saying an ex-Auburn Grad is saying negative things about his former school. He could have talked up LSU without putting down Auburn or their staff. This was a nut punch to Aubbie

Idk how anyone could not come to your same conclusion. Especially given the quote in the OP.

"I thought at this time of my career venturing out would help me grow both as a coach and a person"

It would have been easy. He took a shot here

You are right, we don't know what the question was so it can be misleading but I can think of better ways to phrase a response without sounding like a dis to Auburn.

If you say so, it must be. I personally don't give a shite and I doubt he had malicious intent.

I love how telling people they are melting means they are melting.

How is he spinning it? Anyone not wearing orange and blue can see that Craig is not taking the high road to a question that would've allowed him to. I just wish the Auburn fans could admit that there's more to this.

This isnt a melting situation. But Craig took a shot at Gus. It isnt a big deal but it happened. I would be slightly rustled if I were you, but a full melt is not necessary. Especially so soon after the great Camther melt of 2016

By overstating what the comment actually means

High road? Again, spinning it...

Craig on why left AU: "I don't look at it as a lateral move. In your career, you have personal and team goals." #LSU

Is it spin to say that Craig felt like he couldn't meet his personal and team goals at Auburn? Wouldn't that lead one to believe he can't win a championship at Auburn?

In terms of programs it's a lateral move. But I know LSU is very deep at WR. Not sure what AU's depth chart looks like.

Hopefully Craig can help LSU's QBs too.
