I still think Nick Satan is the best in college football, but if we are playing "what have you done for me lately"; then yes , UM is better....now.

Well this Bama fan doesn't care if he or anyone else thinks Urban is better than Saban. It doesn't matter to me if he is a better coach. Nick Saban is the coach for my Alma Mater and I like him and the way he runs the Bama program. He has coached 3 Bama teams than won the NCs for my school. I am comfortable with him as the coach no matter if he's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th+ best rated coach, I don't want anyone else as the coach even if I could make the change for the school.

These type of threads are always full of rival fans hating on Saban and Bama because it makes them feel better about themselves or their program if they can point and say..ha ha y'all ain't got the best coach out of the all, he's 2nd best,ha ha. All the while their team has been getting their asses beat on the regular by our 2nd best coach. When Bama players and Coach Saban are holding up the seccg trophy this December, again for the 2nd year in a row, y'all can bump this thread and strike back up the, it makes me feel better that Saban isn't the best coach in the entire ncaa talk.

I'm mad and grinded.

Meyer took over a talented Florida team, and did the same at OSU. Saban had to build both LSU & Bama from when they were way down. Meyer couldn't handle playing in the SEC week in and week out. That's why he's no longer there.

I simply do not understand this statement. Urban Meyer won 2 National Championships in 3 years at Florida and you claim he left because he couldnt cut it. I dont know what the hell really happened with the health issues but it seems like a foolish thing to say that a guy with his success had to leave because it was too tough for him.

This is where you will get the Saban ran his arse off, made him quit talk from my fellow Bama fans. It's quite annoying and very finebaumish caller talk.

Well Ive been hearing it for awhile and I dont personally have any love for Urban Meyer other than his coaching ability but it just makes no sense. Some Alabama fans seem to be confusing him with Ron Zook.

The SEC was MUCH tougher when Meyer got ran off than when he arrived. He took the easy route, the Bobby Bowden "ACC route". Look at Ohio State's schedule. That's why he's there.

Urban Meyer is an Ohio guy. That's why he's here.

I'm guessing you haven't seen too many B1G QBs this season. Consider yourself lucky. UM's Rudock ( 10 year senior ) played like shite vs Utah. Then he played okay vs. Oregon State, but they are a bottom Pac-12 team. Joel Stave ( Wisky ) is struggling with forward passes and hitting open receivers, Mitch Leidner ( Minnesota ). Well, he's Mitch Leidner. Gophers' defense will keep them in games. Connor Cook for Sparty is the real deal, as is the two-headed OSU monster. Christian Sackenberg obviously has no o-line. Illinois' QB looks okay but against substandard competition. Purdue's QB is a guy named Appleby. They may have pulled him from the curb side pickup from there. Rutgers' QB ( if he hasn't been arrested by now, he's the only one on the team ) is not too great. So you guys have some sh*tty QBs- welcome to the rest of the country.

did the same at OSU. That's funny. You gumps claim that Ohio State doesn't have the talent anymore because we are in the North. The land of snow and hockey and phat girls. So which is it? Either Ohio has talent that can compete with the Bamas, LSUs, A&Ms, Mizzous, SoCar, Ole Miss, State, etc. or they don't.

When a coach runs you out of the conference, and forces you to take a job in an easier conference, you aren't better.

See? It's not just Bama fans that push this narrative. It's a commonly held belief amongst a lot of SEC fans.

it is finebaumish talk I'll acknowledge that...but the timing of his exit from the SEC was very.....suspect.

Are you referring to the guy that just got fired from his long term gig and just started a new one? I'm pretty certain he'll say anything to draw ratings... its how he makes money. You're either a shill for him or too naïve to realize that's how that industry works. Either way, who cares other than OSU and LSU fans.

Bear Bryant finished around .500 in bowl games. So I guess Meyer > Bryant?

Meyer has the third best winning percentage in the history of college football with 100+ games coached. Let's see if he does stick around another 10-15 years because at that point yes he could be in the conversation with coaches like Bryant but it's still too early to even think about things like that.
