Cowherd "Urban Meyer better coach than Saban. Saban barely .500 in bowl games"

Did he point out their Head to Head matchups? Did he talk about the fact that Saban put Urban in the hospital? Or how about the fact that Saban held Meyer's team at Florida without a TD in 2010 (his 5th year in the program when he would have had no excuse for that 20+ point arse kicking)?

He didn't? Oh, ok.

Saban has an entire roster made up of #1 classes in the country. If he can't win a national title with those classes, then he isn't the best of all time.

And, yes, Meyer is better and will win another national title.

I have a feeling Meyer will go down as the best college football coach ever if he sticks with Ohio State for a long time to come. He doesn't come off as a guy that would like the NFL.

Here's some stats for ya.

Nick Saban went to 3 bowls at Michigan State. Lost all 3 of them. That was his first MAJOR (in other words not Arkan...I mean Toledo) program to coach at. Not fricking Bowling Green.

At LSU he won 3 of 5 bowls including a national championship in 2003.

At Alabama, he is 5-3 in bowls including 3 national championships and a massacre of Big 10 (co)champ Michigan State in 2010. Alabama hasn't played a December bowl game since Nick Saban's first year in 2007, which was one of his 5 wins. So in other words, Nick Saban coached in Tier 1 programs ever since he has started coaching.

Not only that, but he took two programs that were eyeball deep in NCAA trouble and program disarray to the very top of the CFB world....4 times. Urban Meyer has inherited a gold mine at every program he has been at except Utah which was a masterpiece of a coaching job.

They're both solid coaches in every sense of the word, but Nick Saban's path was way worse of a grind than Urban Meyer's was. Urban Meyer is an instant success kind of guy. Like a poster said earlier, Nick Saban is definitely more of a longevity kind of guy.

Bama had just come off years of probation and I was talking about LSU when I said program disarray.

Shouldn't have lumped those two together in the same sentence. Sounded cooler though.

Alabama wouldn't trade Saban for Meyer and Ohio State wouldn't trade Meyer for Saban.

Everybody's happy.

It's clear they're both the best coaches college football has seen in a generation.

Meyer took over a talented Florida team, and did the same at OSU. Saban had to build both LSU & Bama from when they were way down. Meyer couldn't handle playing in the SEC week in and week out. That's why he's no longer there.

You are what your bowl record says you are.

I take strong exception to his statement that SEC QB play is hot garbage. That's complete BS.

Urban Meyer took a team that went 6-7 in a very average Big Ten, won 24 straight games, then won a national championship by beating Saban. Most of the talent on that team, and this one are his.

cowherd is just trying to get viewers to his new show and everyone knows the key to getting major hits/viewers is to rile up sec fans.

btw, better at anything is subjective and subject to whatever stats/points of discussion one decides to plug into their personal "best" theory.
