Beating shorthorns would be worth about 6 games in clout though.

No butthurt here. It's actually a pretty interesting question.

In their better years, yes. In years like the past few, no - there's 5 or 6 teams that would be just as good or better.

Also, no need to throw in the "if they weren't in the SEC, they wouldn't have SEC caliber money and players and blah blah blah," that's a really tired, obvious argument.

Ole Miss got beat by the WAC champion 27-7. C-USA currently has UAB, UTEP, ECU, Marshall, Southern Miss, SMU, Houston, Rice, UCF, Tulane, and Tulsa. I think they'd fair a lot better, but I think they'd get beaten, or at least it be a swing game, against the tougher members, namely SMU, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UCF and Houston.

And LTU ran out the clock and took knees on the OM 10-15 yard line at the end.

I remember because I won a truckload of money on that game

Could Ole Miss win the C-USA?
Ole Miss had the 21st best Pass Defense in the country last season. I think this year they'd do just fine with their defense leading the way for them. They could win the WAC, Sun Belt, MAC and C-USA. Boise would beat them in the MWC.

The reason this stat is completely invalid is because Ole Miss had the 111th ranked rushing defense in football. If you cannot stop the run no one will throw it. Literally nobody had to throw it against them last year

LA Tech destroyed them last year.

Exactly- with the team they have right now- I dont think they could finish in the top half of Conference USA

Their OL is garbage and they have no depth on the DL. Their pass defense was ranked highly last year because nobody had to pass against them.

When you can just handoff- why throw?

Just for kicks using this site LINK and Southern Mississippi's schedule from last year;

@ Marshall: L 34-42
v. Rice: W 37-27
v. SMU: W 34-17
@ UTEP: W 48-30
@ ECU: W 45-16
v. UCF: W 31-28
@ UAB: L 30-36
v. Memphis: W 36-20
v. Houston (Neutral site): L 34-52

So close but no.

That's because no one had to pass on them, they would get a lead and just run the ball in the 2nd half
