I didn't remember that. Reminded me why Tennessee blows.

No SEC will be lured away simply because of money. That being said, I wish we'd kick out TAMU, Mizzou, Arky, Kentucky and Vandy. Bring in Clemson, FSU and VT. 11 game conference schedule with no divisions, 1 patsy HC game and 1 serious OOC home/home or back to back neutral sites.

I'd rather see awesome matchups throughout the year and one SEC team get in, than bullshite and two get in.

I suspect unless the money changes drastically nobody will leave. This isn't about being competitive or being in a basketball conference. It is about using sports mainly Football and to a lesser extent Basketball and in a few cases Baseball to make money for the University.

More than money. The big thing is "free" branding and exposure for the university which helps attract better applicants.

If the Obannon trial make some changes a few have predicted each conference could put a percentage of the TV revenue toward a trust for players. If that were to occur the conference with the most money could essentially entice the best players with a larger trust fund. It could cause another shakeup in conference teams.

The rich would get richer.

Since the buyout for any SEC team to leave is $1 I'd imagine that any team that wants to leave is free to do so. My thinking is that since college football is the main money maker in college sports than the current members would be short sided to want to leave the SEC. Especially since the SEC Network is starting in August which will only add to the revenue cycle.

bama could move to the NFC South. No doubt about it. However, some of the players would have to take a pay cut. Salary cap and whatnot.

You are high as a kite!

UK is a charter member of the SEC
First SEC president was from UK
Dudley - the guy who created the conference - was a KY native

The Big Ten will only consider AAU members, so only Vandy, Florida, Mizzou, and A&M are eligible.

Mizzou tried getting in and was turned down; they probably don't make another attempt. Vandy doesn't get in because Northwestern is already a member and I doubt the Big Ten wants a second small private school member. Florida and A&M are simply too far away.

The ACC won't consider Florida, Kentucky, Georgia, and South Carolina for the same reason the SEC won't consider Florida State, Miami, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Clemson. They have too many small private schools as it is, so Vandy gets left out again. Tennessee would be a good pickup for instant football cred, and Auburn would be close enough east to work out as well; I just don't see either one leaving. Everyone else is too far away.

The PAC-12 is too far away. Plus the only SEC school that it did consider turned them down (A&M, and I don't think it was solely due to being stuck with Texas).

Most of the SEC is too far away for the Big 12 to make a push, and three of the closest schools have bad blood with the conference (translated: with Texas), so Mizzou, Arkansas, and A&M are out. LSU would be the best choice (expanded territory in a very desirable recruiting area), but I don't see them leaving either.

Nah. Trying to kick us out because y'all have a losing record against us is silly. Admittedly, you're reasonably competitive against us, so it's not like you don't deserve a bit of our respect, but still...

UK will never leave the SEC. We would upgrade our football program before we'd let that happen.

Okay, now see this? This is a four-way road, okay? And dead in the center, is a crisp, new, hundred dollar bill. Now at the end of each of the streets, are four people, okay? You following? Up here, we got a really good Kentucky football program. Okay? Now down here, we have a man-hating, angry-as-frick, agenda-of-rage, bitter dyke. To this side, we got Santa Claus, right? And over to this side - the Easter Bunny. Which one's going to get to the hundred dollar bill first?... I'm serious. This is a serious exercise. It's like an S.A.T. question. Which one's going to get to the hundred dollar bill first - Kentucky football, the man-hating dyke, Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny?

The ACC won't consider Florida

It is never going to happen, but both the Big 10 and the ACC would take Florida in a second if they had the chance.

Two of them are imaginary, while the third one has no idea what to do when someone makes a pass in her direction. In other words, it's a trick question -- they're all UK football.
