I don't see it happening anytime soon, but there is always the possibility that a school feels slighted and decides to leave. UF has threatened before but that was many years ago.

When was this? I always thought we should have left back in the 80's or 90's, and was surprised because of our loyalty to the SEC. I never heard either public or private conversations about this.

Right after they voted to strip us. Everyone was understandably upset, don't know how close it ever came to actually happening.

UF looked at moving out of the SEC in 1984 after the SEC stripped them of their first SEC title, many infractions due to Charlie Pell
